no, he shouldn't HAVE because that's murder and an eye for an eye is a barbaric attitude towards something that is supposed to be civilized and morally sound

He ended the lives of 14 people, changed the lives of 70 (count em, 70 others) and caused widespread grief throughout all the victims' families. He didn't execute those 14 and wound those 70 in a civilized nor morally sound manner either, he had planned that attack with excruiciating detail. That coward deserves to be put to death. And it is the government's responsiblity to end the lives of criminals if the punishment is earned, as it was here.

Yes, they do. If you go on a mass shooting and kill 14 people and injure 70 others while showing 0 remorse for your actions then you should be put to death.

it is the government's responsibility to better the lives of its citizens. murdering someone does not accomplish that, in fact it does the exact opposite. he needs mental health support

there is no fixing someone like that without doing punishments that are inhumane. No matter what you do, he will still kill people.

James Holmes was not found to be clinically insane. What kind of mental health support does he need? He was sane, he knew what he was doing, and he ended the lives of 14 people. 14 people who had families. 14 people who had friends. 14 people who contributed to society. The fact of the matter is that man inflicted permanent physical and emotional damage onto all 84 of his victims and he knew that he was doing it. If you can harm 84 people and only get life in prison then all you are doing is encouraging others to do it.

People change its hard to believe but they do.. Sentencing someone to end there life and never fix the things they did wrong is not right.
and im pretty sure max prison is way worse then death |

It is possible to break out of prison. Very hard but, possible. A death penalty will discourage people from doing that. Who wants to be killed? Nobody unless you're messed up in the head.
