Stories > Role plays, at least to me.
having text role played for almost 3 years, and in game role playing almost just as long as that, I've got my fair share of role playing. While role plays are more unpredictable and fun, I see them as training wheels for writing. Even if you're the creator of the role play, you're still not in control of everything in the role play. You're not writing it all, you're relying on other people to help you build an interconnected story. That's fun, yeah, because someone can change it and you can have more interaction with real people but personally I find story writing to be much more entertaining. It's lonelier and more boring, yes, but at least there are no unintentional twists and different skills of writing. There may be three great writers in a RP, with four horrible writers in a RP. In a story, it's just you. If you're bad, good, great, whatever, it still doesn't fluctuate and the story is solid and stable.
but this is the role playing forum. Not the literature forum. This is for role plays, and not for stories, but stories are accepted of course m8 |

| PS if said story is a fanfiction on this forum with actual "RPers" here as characters there goes what little respect I had left for you |

What?
We always accept actual stories.
As of above (which I don't know which where came from) |

I never said we don't, I just said that this forum was built with the intention of role plays, but the mods have left us to do whatever we want and that's why this place is pretty much OT #2
but really though, it should be renamed the literature forum. Poems, stories, role plays, etc., all writing techniques. |

@IncredibleFriendlyB
well, i agree with story > roleplay but you don't have to write alone. books can be written with more than one author, i'm actually reading a series where over 5 people are working on them (probably because there are like 7 million books in each series) i just personally prefer writing stories with either myself or a close friend(s) because it gives you a bit more control and it prevents plot twists you didn't want to happen or something you would rather not have in the story. |

| I've never heard of books with multiple authors, sounds like it could be fun though, but I probably won't do it more than once, if at all tbh. What you stated are some more valid points - if you're writing alone, you have the utmost control and ability to write anything you think of. |

| I remember (Although I may be wrong) that the Game of Thrones series, or whatever it's actual name is, was based off of an earlier series the author had written with a group of people. |
