have a thing right where,
there is a raider spawn..
and a defending spawn....
and a terminal, where the two teams fight for it and control it for a certain amount of time to win!!

The idea of a huge "war zone" like the jungle at Kaznan is a really interesting idea. The idea of dropships to scan over this dense jungle, transporting troops, and engaging raiders is also really really emerging and fun. Transporting troops across the map and having them all jump out on a cliff is super cool. Having a friend be your gunner and is really cool. Doing patrol sweeps across the map, scanning for raiders on the ground is really, really, fun. The For non-VAK/VAC people, you'll have to trust me on this. It really is. Having OP dropships isn't fun for raiders. The idea for Kaznan was there, but the balance wasn't. If Kaznan's jungle was vastly bigger, with raiders having dropships as well or rocket launchers or something (just balance it out) I would personally rate it ROBLOX's #1 base, IN TERMS OF FUN. So, I would follow that layout. Perhaps a giant forest. Perhaps huge mountain ranges with caves. Make it feel like you're stranded when you're out there. Make it so you're constantly checking behind you, above you, to the sides, to see if you're followed. Make it have something you truly fear at the base (Such as an enemy dropship, helicopter, etc.) Make it so you have to hide from that threat, or else die. Make it so stealth can play a huge role. Make various heights, such as the rocks at Kaznan. Make it big, make it fun, make it fair. If you want a fort I would make if I could build/script, it would be this: A huge, destroyed city. Tons of nooks and cranny's to hide in. Tons of building to hide in or take a vantage point from. Lots of eneterable buildings that serve no point other than hiding, cover, and to emerge the player. There are helicopters or dropships, depending on the time period the clan takes place in. One helicopter/dropship for each team. There are different places you can get anti air rockets from to shoot down helicopters/dropships. The map is huge. If you are walking the streets alone, you will feel alone. If you encounter a group of raiders, you will die. Names will be hidden for stealth reasons. There will be different classes. Snipers will be used to snipe, not quickscope. (Somehow balance that). If you are pinned down by a sniper, you're not going to leave the building. You're going to call for help. If there is a helicopter/dropship nearby, you will hide. If you are spotted, you will die. Make the actual "base" underground in the center of the city, so helicopters do not play a role in defending the actual base. Make guns balanced. As said before, a sniper would be used for sniping. If you encounter someone up close, your pistol would be better. Make SMGs good up close, but bad at long ranges. You get the point. Make dozens of ways to get to the underground base. Make the underground base hallways like a maze, also huge. Make it so the player feels lost in this place. Make it so the player doesn't know exactly where they're going, but knows the base is somewhere in this direction. Sometimes they will die and not know where the player came from. Sometimes they will stalk another player for long distances, ending in them killing them when they don't expect it. Build the base so that positioning is a main factor, not just how well you can run and gun passed 5 people to get inside the base and then corner shoot for 30 minutes. Make the layout so stealth can beat a good aim, but a good aim can also beat stealth. This is what seems fun to me. But that's just me.

I hope I described the idea well enough. Transitioning from an idea to words is hard, especially when it's one of a kind and never tested before, balance wise.
Forgot to include this in the essay: Make the place darker, for stealth reasons. The helicopter, guns, and buildings, all have lights on them to search for players. Perhaps lights on buildings could sweep back and forward. But, also make some roads or sections with lots of light. These places on the map are great for people will good aim, but bad tactics. The different ways to the base would cater to different play styles. Lots of light would be for people with good aim and bad stealth/tactics, as said before. (Basically every RCL try-hard, heh) Lots of shadows and darkness would be for people who prefer to sneak passed. A confusing, maze like section could be for people who prefer to outsmart their enemy. There could be a section that was a huge shortcut to the base, but had no cover, allowing snipers to pick you off easily. Caters to the people who like to take risks, or are good at dodging. Mixtures of these could overlap to appeal to two different play-styles at once. You get the idea. Be creative, I'm not going to do all the work for you.

Thanks a ton, swat. I went to bed early last night, sorry for not replying.
Probably will end up with dropships (without weapons on them) because they seem pretty popular. Not sure if the group is going to be jungle-stealth type though. I'll talk all of it over with the hicom and show them what you wrote and we'll talk about it. |
