Both. I liked both. Fallout 3 starts out not right away but New Vegas kinda does. |

| I prefered NV over 3, but they're both fine games. |

Fallout 3. I don't own NV but I've played it before, pretty good game
After you finish the main quests and Broken Steel quests like Who Dares Wins, it gets pretty boring, but you still have the other add-ons to go, so yeah.. |

new vegas
- there's simply more of everything (weapons, quests, locations, enemies, levels, perks etc) - you actually get to choose which of four factions you want to ally yourself with (independent vegas, mr. house, legion, or ncr) unlike fallout 3 where it forces you to stick with the brotherhood of steel - no annoying green tint - bigger and better modding community than 3 (unless you plan on getting it for console, of course) - more faithful to the original two games - no mothership zeta dlc - hardcore mode - levelling system prevents you from being too overpowered (the combat is still kinda' bullet spongy, but that's a problem in both games)
3 just has
- better atmosphere (which is actually quite subjective, because i'm sure there are at least a few people who liked the cowboy-esque atmosphere of new vegas more than 3's gritty atmosphere) - the ability to continue playing after finishing the main story (although you still have to buy either the goty edition or the broken steel dlc) |

Love Fallout 3 but the beginning is so slow and boring.
New Vegas puts you right into the action and it's pretty great. I only play these games for killing everyone though. |

New Vegas Not as buggy, great story line. Cheap. Abundance of amazing mods.

New vegas nerds
3 is better, no competition better atmosphere Cooler missions less bugs (both r buggy but nv went crazy)
Anyone complaining about green tint is a nerd, Washington is the apocalyptic aftermath of a nuclear war, the radiation would cause that.
the only part of new vegas I like better are the factions, in nv I find them to be more interesting. other than that 3 is super duper superior
Also clyde, you can't say a better modding community makes one game better than the other. If a game relies on mods to make itself better than something else, the vanilla game itself obviously sucks butt compared to its superior counterpart.

| Also the atmosphere in 3 being better is not subjective, its better, period. In both games you play in a post apocalyptic wasteland caused by a nuclear war. In fallout 3, if you roamed around the map with no idea of what the story was, you could easily tell what happened. In new vegas, if you threw some loser into the map, and told him to tell you exactly what had happened, he wouldn't as easily be able to tell you. Fallout 3s atmosphere is much more realistic when it comes to what a post apocalyptic world would look like. You can say it's dull and gritty (just quoting what I heard some losers say), but what else would you expect from a world like this? A giant city filled with bright lights, casinos and hotels? No, fallouts atmosphere fits the description of the game. |

i just got a bad case of deja vu...
"better atmosphere"
subjective, as i said with part of my post,
'- better atmosphere (which is actually quite subjective, because i'm sure there are at least a few people who liked the cowboy-esque atmosphere of new vegas more than 3's gritty atmosphere)' x2
"Cooler missions"
i sense even more subjectivity in our midst
but, you want to know what IS objective?
nv has more missions than 3
"less bugs (both r buggy but nv went crazy)"
tfw i experienced more crashes in 3 than nv
plus they were more inconvenient as well
>saves before fight >wipes out horde of super mutants >"I DIIIIDD ITTTT" >game crashes >"FFFFFFF"
"Anyone complaining about green tint is a nerd, Washington is the apocalyptic aftermath of a nuclear war, the radiation would cause that."
okay, according to the fallout 3 wikipedia page, it sold around 4.7 copies, and according to the fellout mod (of which removes the green tint) on nexusmods, there have been about 1.9 downloads
which means, according to my calculator if you divide 1.9 by 4.7, you get around 0.4, which is 40% in percentage form
which means, according to you, 40% of the people who bought fallout 3 are nerds
*slow clap*
"other than that 3 is super duper superior"
yes, as you've obviously shown with your factual non-subjective evidence
"If a game relies on mods to make itself better than something else, the vanilla game itself obviously sucks butt compared to its superior counterpart."
yes, but as you can see, this point was just 1/8 of the new vegas pros i listed showing that it doesn't need mods to be good |

i'm not going to argue with each individual sentence so
'i'm sure there are at least a few people who liked the cowboy-esque atmosphere of new vegas more than 3's gritty atmosphere' x3

I am one of those people.
Mostly because I made Revolver Ocelot, and went around crippling people's knees. |
