"New York is kind of expensive so I don't see why they wouldn't do that."
That doesn't make sense raising minimum wage would only make prices go up.
I'm pretty sure McDonalds is going to fire all their NY employees and replace them with kiosks.

Actually it'll get a lot of young college students off of Financial Aid, which will in turn be a lot better for the govt.
Also, considering NY is legit one of the most expensive places to live, with current minimum wage being FAR out of proportion with prices, so 15 an hour is quite proportional for that area.
It's places in the midwest where people making 11 an hour affording apartments on their own that you need to worry about making 15 an hour |

"That doesn't make sense raising minimum wage would only make prices go up."
So what do you propose?
Convincing all the local businesses to lower their prices and getting local appartments to lower their rents? Good luck
Sure, you can argue that people can just go to college, but many don't have the opportunity, whether it be them being completely self sufficient and needing to work every hour out of their day or the fact that they have children to care for plus needing to work, it's not an opportunity for everyone. That and many of those currently in college can't afford anything and are forced to go on Government provided Financial Aid. |

Lmao, so you'd rather have trump who's easily the most bigotted person to run for pres?
Or how about Bush, cause you know, Bush presidents have TOTALLY worked for us in the past. |

No I propose that instead of paying bottomfeeding fast food workers more than our men and women in uniform we stop becoming a socialist superpower.
It's disgusting. |

You make no sense. Instead of doing something to get people off of government programs and using government money which could be used elsewhere such as our schools, we stop becoming a socialist superpower? What? Like, what solution do you actually propose to lower poverty and homeless rates and bring back the dissapearing middle class?
Oh, and also something I kindly forgot is regardless of whether or not we raise minimum wage, prices will rise. My area for instance, had rent raise about 500-1,000 for a 2 bedroom appt and prices for produce rising dramatically while minimum wage was still 8.50. We only just RECENTLY saw a raise to 10.00 an hour just a month ago. And I'm in Silicon Valley. Much more expensive than NY. |

Not going to lie, Paul is easily the best choice for our economy based on what I've read, but he's much too involved in wanting to control who people marry and what people do with their lives. Furthermore, Bush and Trump are the two leading candidates for the GOP, and Paul is currently like 5th or 6th. Not likely that he'll run against Clinton or Sanders. |

| You guys are acting like this means those people will be able to buy more expensive homes and generally buy more things. Everything will rise in price accordingly, and it will be like nothing happened. |

"wanting to control who people marry and what people do with their lives"
No, he's the opposite. He wants to leave marriage to the states and not the federal govt.

And if you raise minimum wage, companies are going to make less money, which is ultimately going to lead to them firing excess employees (Like I said above, I'm pretty sure McDonalds is planning to fire most of its employees because of this wage increase).
But if you're comfortable with living in a socialist powerhouse then by all means be happy with our govt. I, for one, am most certainly not. |

More expensive homes? You do realize that in a lot of areas a minimum wage can't even afford a studio apartment on it's own right? Higher wages will allow people to be self sufficient to afford their own BASIC appartment without the need of SSI benefits which will in turn allow SSI to be used more for the elderly and the disabled.
Also, price floors and ceilings my friend. It will rise but it will take time. Also, again, what do you propose to fix this? As I mentioned prices will rise regardless of what wages are, so obviously, leaving the wages where they are is not something we should do either. There is a problem, and it needs a solution.
