The United States is made up of a Government based on a system of checks and balances. As President my job is to enforce the law, in which the Congress creates, and the U.S. Judicial Branch tries.
Now before you sign out of elections, let me tell you about Congress and maybe you will change your minds. Congress is created out of two houses, the Senate and the House of Representatives. The House of Representatives creates bills/laws, once the House of Representatives has over 2/3 majority vote, the U.S. Senate votes on the bill.
The U.S. Senate has to approve Executive Officers before they take office, such as Directors and Cabinet, when there is no Senate the President may directly hire his nominees in their desired positions constitutionally.
As you may know there is Congressional House leadership. The Speaker of the House is determined by a House of Representatives election, or the person who has the most votes in the HoR elections. The is also a President Pro-Tempore in the Senate. The President of the Senate is the Vice President of the United States.
