| Last week in a desperate attempt to fall asleep at 10 am I taped trashbags over my shutters so not even a crack of light could shine through, took 6 melatonin, and wokeup at 8:30pm that night with a headache. |

| I watched something on asap science on youtube and they say lack of sleep may drive you crazy, but can rarely kill you. Staying up 50 hours surely wont kill me or drive me insane. Its longer periods of time, like weeks, and you must have to be a little crazy already to stay up like that. |

| By 'crazy' he means hallucinations. But there are no long term effects. |

so you're saying just because you seem fine after staying up a long time doesn't hurt you?
*increases chance of getting sick due to the immune system being lowered after staying up for an extensive period
*getting sick often lowers the chance of living a longer life
*after 36 hours of staying up you start to have high levels of inflammatory in the blood stream which can lead to cardiovascular disease which is potentially fatal.
*after 48 hours your body starts to shutdown for what you would call "micro sleeps" which can last from half a second to half a minute, doesn't matter what you're doing either, so if you're about to do a physical activity, it could be painful. |
