@Cricket
Maybe you wouldn't be weak if your parents physically disciplined you after every time you did something bad? |

I'm meaning to talk about serious issues Such as rebelling against your parents where you start to get violent |

Spankings. I got them and it helped I guess? What really worked was sitting down and talking about the problems, personally. Physical discipline only made me want to rebel and lash out.
But I'm not against it if someone wants to spank their annoying snot-nosed brat into a respectable young lad or lady. |

What happens if you use "physical discipline" on someone when you grow up and move out?
You guessed it, the slammer, if not shot.
What makes so much sense here is that adults are protected by the law, despite adults can defend themselves and in most states can even carry firearms for extra protection,
Yet children who cannot defend themselves can be nothing short of assaulted by their own parents.
Many parents today are not doing what was done to kids years ago. They're simply repeating what their parents did to them, or they're getting angry at their child and just want to hit them.
Very rarely, is child physical punishment going to teach anyone over the age of 11 anything, and its going to make more cons than pros.
What child, wants to live in a home where they get screamed at and hit by their parents everyday?
Honestly, 20-30 years ago when it was used, that was different, parents who do that now, for getting mad at their kids, and the parents who scream yell and make their children be their slaves, should be thrown in prison. End of story, nobody wants to live in a home where your yelled at and beat everyday and can't do anything about it, but that's what a child in 2015 has to endure.
Kids have enough going on in school now. Parent's just seem to never see that when you yell and beat them, that your no better than the bullies at school.
Spanking should be outlawed. It's sick. |

Obviously you didn't read what I said in a later post I'm talking about cases where the child is acting spoiled rotten and is starting to get violent towards the parent |

Discipline starts before your child even gets out of control.
Spanking, will teach them that hitting will solve their problems.
Tell me, how hypocritical is it to tell your kids not to hit eachother, then turn around and hit them?
Not only will this make them rebel, this will make them increasingly violent, which is probably going to hurt your child in the longrun.
I mean heck, if someone runs up to you on the street and starts beating you, you have a right to defend yourself, kids should have a right to defend themselves against their parents, their parents do not own them, they are not their parents slaves, they are not their parents toys, they are not their parents property. Their parents are responsible for making sure they have a place to sleep and food to eat until they reach 18. |

@Furry
So by your statement your talking about physical punishment towards children should be outlawed What about children you try to poison their mom for taking away their iPhone (actually happened) What about children who start destroying the house and damaging over $1k of valuables over parents taking away their PS4 (actually happened) Spanking needs its appropriate times or else these things happen |

Both of those are legal issues, the children should be arrested for that.
Why do you think the police arrest you and dont just drag you out into the street and beat you for doing stuff like that? Because it doesn't work, that promotes violence |

Also let's take another group of people for example right now
DDosers, and Swatters
Do you really think they were disciplined properly They show no respect towards other humans And that's the parents fault for raising them without punishments

Sure all of those kids could have used a little something, all of those were young, spoiled kids, should have never had an Xbox or something like that.
I'm talking about physical discipline on people over the age of about 12, that's going to have issues. |

| I've gotten in fist fights over petty sht with my dad for things like forgetting to take out the trash, getting stoned, leaving the house without asking at like 4pm. And i'm 17. It does nothing but pisses me off because i'm almost an adult and he makes himself look so f*king stupid when he tries to get physical with me for things like that |

| Wow Furrry can't tell the difference between domestic abuse and disciplining a misbehaving child. lol What a pleb. You know if kids grow up thinking they can get away with wrong without punishment... they're in for a rude awakening. Also, saying discipline = criminal behavior when they grow up is a load of horse crap. |

Kids who aren't actually trying to disobey shouldn't be disciplined at all.
If your child spills his or her drink, do you really think they did it on purpose just to annoy you even they know you would spank them?
But if the parent spills his or her drink, oh no, it was an accident, it's always an accident, they're parents, its ok

"Tell me, how hypocritical is it to tell your kids not to hit eachother, then turn around and hit them?"
Does the concept of established authority escape you?
It's used by dogs, the alpha males, all the time in nature. Parental figures ARE authorities; they're bigger than you, they care for you, and they can dish out negative reinforcement, i.e physical pain if you don't follow their commands.
If everyone felt they were on the same level as their superiors, and some people do, they get fired. Or thrown in jail for breaking a law. Or worse. |
