Growing up in a family of Longhorns/Bobcats (except for one psychotic older cousin who can't keep a good relationship and like one uncle I really don't know that well that attended A&M), I was brainwashed all my life that A&M was this total redneck farmer school with a bunch of dumb-dumbs like Rick Perry and that College Station is a disgusting small town but after today, my opinion has changed.
Texas A&M University and the city of College Station are actually much friendlier than the University of Texas and the city of Austin and it's not even comparable. Nearly every single person makes you feel like you're there. In Austin you're just a number. I had an idea of some of their traditions (they're a rival, duh) but not all. I loved their College of Architecture and the facilities they have.
Wow. |

| The only thing I like about UT that A&M doesn't have is a phenomenal library. A&M does not have a large main library with 8 floors and millions of books. |

| Honestly realistically it's up to Texas A&M or Colorado State, even though I'll still keep Texas and Oregon in the tabs |

"How are the people in Oregon?"
Have not been, going on a vacation to Oregon/Colorado at some point next summer to visit Colorado State and Oregon. All I know is that they both have an Architecture program and both schools are in areas where it seems like I would love to live in |

No, unless I actually end up attending Texas A&M University, I will always and forever be a Longhorn fan. |

If I went to Texas State, my mom would disown me. If I went to Texas A&M, everyone EXCEPT my mom (and that one cousin I mentioned) would disown me. Lol.
I feel like this is just one more (and the smallest, of course) reason to consider A&M lol |

Sir: "Texas A&M is not very friendly to non-alumni and minorities"
Rune: "That's absolutely ridiculous and false"
Sir: "That's not what I've heard" |

^ Yep. That's what happens when you just hear from people in Austin without actually visiting A&M. They're actually more accepting to Hispanics/Latinos than the University of Texas and I think they actually have more study abroad programs too.
I literally also didn't know about how Disney-Pixar uses A&M as the idea for their main characters because Disney-Pixar hires a lot of A&M students, like how Sully in Monsters, Inc came from Sullivan Ross and how the idea of Carl in Up was inspired by an A&M student. Really cool fun facts I learned. |

| I texted my Aggie best friend asking him what the best BBQ in College Station was. He took too long to answer (he eventually did once my parents and I started eating), so we went to a Persian restaurant (PERSIAN FOOD IN COLLEGE STATION??? WHAT???) and it turned out to be better than any of Austin's 4 Persian restaurants. Impressive. |

"if you didn't go to torchy's you made a mistake" Dude we have Torchy's Tacos all over Austin lol I can go try that some other time
"where were you? i was at my sister's apartment all day the street next to the H-E-B past the railroad tracks" I was doing the on-campus tour through the Earl Rudder Tower, the Academic Hall, the Evans Library, and the Student Memorial Center, and visited the College of Architecture complex as well as Kyle Field.
(UPDATE AS I LOOKED ON GOOGLE MAPS: I was at Shiraz Shish Kabob. Which meant you were one measly block from me (assuming you were at the H-E-B in College Station, not Bryan. Wow.) |

Persian food/Mediterranean food is the best.
My mom would disown me if I went to Yale, any college in Texas (that's not in Austin), or USC |

"Persian food/Mediterranean food is the best." Yeah. This place in College Station also shocked me because I've been to probably 20 Persian restaurants in my life, and the only ones that were better than the one in College Station was one in Arlington (Virginia), one in Houston (off Hillcroft/Westpark, so Rune has an idea of where), and one in Los Angeles. Every single Persian restaurant in Austin is actually inferior to this one I just went to today.
"My mom would disown me if I went to Yale, any college in Texas (that's not in Austin), or USC" Rice (if you can get admitted) and Texas A&M are also really prestigious, don't know why your mom would disown you. |
