| I mean, in 2015, there's not an extremely huge difference between PC and Console ports like there was with console ports for PC games back in the 90's. Quake, Quake 2, DOOM, DOOM 2, and Final DOOM all look really bad on consoles, but on PC's they look great. The animations are smoother, sounds are on time, and it's faster paced. On Consoles and PC's now, there's not a tremendous difference. I have a hard time telling BF4 on Xbox One from BF4 on PC. There's just not a really big difference anymore, and I feel most PC elitists still think the consoles nowadays are still like the NES, Sega Gensis/32x, and SNES. I just find it funny how dumb some of these elitists are. |

A console is just a PC with limitations and a lot less features. And that's just a fact. |

| A side by side comparison of Console and PC would make a console look like an N64 |

You're right, they don't look terrible. However, you can get a PC for about the same price (okay, maybe a little bit more. but not much) that can run PC applications, surf the web, etc. Not to mention that modifying or upgrading your PC won't void your warranty in most cases, whereas doing so to a console will. In fact, by just opening up your XBox 360 system (even to fix something), you render it completely unusable. And by upgrading your PC's individual parts, you can continue to play the latest and greatest games for many years to come, while on console, you'll eventually have to buy an entirely new and overpriced system.
Back in the old days, consoles were a good thing. They helped keep the infant gaming industry alive, and got it to where it is today. However, these days, consoles aren't needed, as the gaming industry is going strong, and PC gaming is simpler than ever. In fact, they're even making PC's that automatically boot into a menu that can be navigated with a USB controller as if it were a console menu. But these days, console makers (specifically Sony and MS) are milking the console thing for all its worth. You want more controllers? We have a monopoly on controllers for our console, so pay us whatever we want! You want more memory? Buy our memory card! You want to use the internet? Well, on top of already paying your service provider for access every month, pay us too!
Consoles these days are nothing more than a gimmick to make a quick buck. With a PC, accessories are still a thing, but you're free to use anything that can utilize a USB port. Heck, if you're smart enough, you can even make your own controller. Extra memory is relatively cheap, and the only internet fees are the ones that you pay your service provider.
...And that's my little rant about why I'm a PC guy. It's much more cost effective in the long run. The up-front costs may seem a bit daunting, but once you get past those, you'll wonder why you weren't gaming on a PC years ago. |

| the reason consoles don't look terrible is because they sacrifice performance for graphical fidelity and even then it's still subpar |

As I said before, though. BF4 on the Xbone looks almost identical to BF4 on PC, minus AA being switched off, which really doesn't bother me. But I guess consoles will always be weaker than PC, but consoles is for gaming with your friends and family. No one wants to buy 6 or 7 different gaming systems for everyone to play on at once. |

| Eh, darker on Xbone. Still, I still find both to be graphically impressive. You guys are acting like BF4 on Xbone is Wolfenstein 3D. xP |

"I mean, in 2015, there's not an extremely huge difference between PC and Console ports like there was with console ports for PC games back in the 90's.
uh, yeah, the difference between PC and Console today is quite big
pretty much bigger than ever, in fact
"Quake, Quake 2, DOOM, DOOM 2, and Final DOOM all look really bad on consoles, but on PC's they look great. The animations are smoother, sounds are on time, and it's faster paced."
that's nice, and quite irrelevant
"On Consoles and PC's now, there's not a tremendous difference. I have a hard time telling BF4 on Xbox One from BF4 on PC. "
>not a tremendous difference >720p vs 1080p
"There's just not a really big difference anymore, and I feel most PC elitists still think the consoles nowadays are still like the NES, Sega Gensis/32x, and SNES. I just find it funny how dumb some of these elitists are. "
on the contrary
the difference is bigger than ever, and the only one who's being dumb here is you, OP

How were the consoles better than PC when on the consoles, they had to strip animations and sounds? Quake 2 on N64 (looks horrible, btw): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_k7jLMCbhQ Quake 2 on PC (looks awesome and the way it should be): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTyyKMmlf6E
As I said before, there's not a huge difference on consoles now, and the Xbox One is perfectly capable of running 1080p, as shown by the Master Chief Collection, Dying Light, and Wolfenstein 3D. It's just companies choose to put it on 720p so fanboys like you can say it's a bad system when in reality, it's not. Now if you don't mind, I'm gonna go play Quake 2. :D |
