The State of Crestrise: Things have reach a chaotic stage in the Empire. Lujor and Kireus have begun to call for militias from the civilians and the churches, and are expected to duke it out at anytime. Otherwise, there isn't much of a threat to worry about. The world seems a little too peaceful, as if it was trying to ignore all of the problems about succession. It feels almost unguarded.
The Registered Races of Crestrise:
Humans: Humans are common and the most numerous and probably the most powerful due to those numbers. They are the dominant race of Crestrise.
Amarzi: The Amarzi are an old race that experience a massive lost of it's ancient culture when Feralclaw had occupied them along with Crestrise. Ever since that day they have joined the Empire and given all of their remaining lands to them so they can focus on rebuilding their lost culture. The Amarzis are called by some "deer men" because of their deer like ears, and their antlers. They usually have red, pink, or purple eyes and they have a cherry red skin, ironic considering that they are fatally allergic to cherries.
Wi'Wyn: The Wi'Wyn hail from an undersea kingdom north of Crestrise As a race they are ingenious inventors and excellent merchants, however they usually contact each other through body language, so they have issue with speech. They also can't breath out of water for more than a few minutes. The Wi'Wyn travel around the routes of Crestrise, usually in giant portable containers of sea water that act as mobile shops, or in breathing masks containing water, always bartering their goods to the Empire. The Wi'Wyn look like giant humanoid lizards, with blue scales and white bellies, with whisker coming out of the edges of their snouts and they have a tail. They're shorter than most races though.
Dwarves: The Dwarves are a short race, though debates about how they may have been humans are difficult to discuss. They are one of the four warring races of the Floating Islands, competing for the complete control of the frozen wastelands. The Dwarves found that as a race they lacked the defenses and numbers that their enemies had, and so competed with them by improving and honing their technology. Their ships and siege weapons are of the highest grade, and they were the ones that made the airships that have become so popular with the Empire. They are also formidable at forging, and their combat tactics and formation are the 2nd best in the Floating Islands.
Your Story:
The port town of Aircliffe brought on a cold breeze. You stood in the alleyway trying to get out of that breeze, just standing their watching as a giant lizard known as an orcish horse pulled a Wi'Wyn caravan, it's owners trying to rush over to the port to catch an airship to some random location. Gahran appears, two warm drinks in hand, giving one to you.
"It's blisteringly cold today, isn't it?" |

I nod, taking the drink and sipping from it. "It was never this cold back home," I say. Cold was always bad for my business. When it came to picking locks, or picking pockets, having frozen fingers only made things harder. I could only hope it'd warm up soon, or we'd be able to move on to warmer places. "Any idea how close we are to finding Hitirin?" I ask Gahran. |

(Oh crap. I had meant to say that the town's name was Jurva. Aircliffe's the province... Oh well, now ya know.)
"Way I see it he's probably gonna get a ship out of here. The road here's a dead end. It's either he comes back this way and gets killed by us, or he takes the first ship outta here. Now it's just a matter of which ship he's gonna take, if he hasn't already boarded one yet." |

He unsheathes his spear, an elegant design, obviously dwarven-make by it's quality. He smiles and nods in agreement, leaning against the wall, watching the caravan like you were while sipping his drink.
"Go on ahead. Tell me if you find anything good." |

| "I will," I say, setting down my empty cup and getting up. While I was here, I could probably steal a few things from the people around here. Of course, trying to make extra cash for myself while on the job probably wasn't wise. Then again, getting myself caught in the first place wasn't wise either. Nevertheless, I decided to focus on the job at hand. I made my way to the port, looking around for a worker on the ships I could speak to. |

You see a dwarf, a short man, even for a dwarf, with red hair and a goatee, yelling out to some of the workers, "Hey, Bartholomew! I told you to get those bloody crates on the merchant ship NOW. When I saw now, I mean now! Get yourself working, you bloody lazy fool!"
You think he may be a manager for the docks. |

Seemed like a rude man. If he wasn't careful, someone would probably get annoyed with his yelling and step on him. "Excuse me," I say, approaching the dwarf, "I'm in need of a ship schedule." |

| "Oh... Sorry. I didn't know you were there. Working at the docks is well... Uhm, anyways, yes. There isn't a schedule to give, but we have them listed on the sign there. As you can see, within the next two hours four ships are leaving: A merchant ship headed north towards the borders, two passenger ships, one heading to Krelle and the other making multiple drop offs, and finally a supply ship heading over to Dawn's Hope, dropping some food off at the famous capital of the Church, you see. A ticket on the passenger ship is about twenty five copper if you're headed over to Krelle, the other ship... well that varies depending on where you're going off." |

Two passenger ships. Well, there were two people hunting down Hitirin. If Gahran and I got on separate ships, one of us would be able to kill him. But, things might be a little easier if we could figure out for sure which ship he was going on. "Do you have a list of people who bought tickets for the passenger ships?" I ask. |

| "We don't keep track of those unless they reserved a cabin on the ship. Funny story about that today. We had a ship that was supposed to leave earlier today, but we got a tip saying that a blizzard had appeared on that route, so we had it postponed till tomorrow to wait out the blizzard. There was a guy, I think his name was Viktor, he had reserved a cabin on that ship, you see, and when we told him he was absolutely furious. He had called for a refund and purchased a ticket on another one of our ships. I think it was the one with the multiple drop offs." |

Viktor huh. It's possible Hitirin is using a fake name. That's the smart thing to do in any case. This Viktor had to have been in a rush to get out of here. The destination didn't matter to him, he just needed to skip town. That has to be our guy. "Okay, thank you for your help," I say, heading over to the sign to look at the ship schedules. |

| The airship drops off in four places, the closest and cheapest is Magson in the north, 15 copper per ticket. About a half day's trip. You get whole extra day to perform the deed though if you take it Traverse in the Olivehead Province, about 20 copper per ticket. You look at the last stop, it's in Ranger's Eye, in a small port town name Yrn. Ranger's Eye is enclosed in a bunch of woods. It would be a good place to shake off pursuers. You also noticed that the ship that this possibly Hitirin tried to take lead to an area near Ranger's Eye. Putting two and two together, you can deduce it doesn't matter exactly where you pay for your ticket, he's likely going to drop a hole silver and ten copper to reach that last stop, giving you all the time you need. |

| If Hitirin had gotten a cabin, I'd be able to kill him quietly in that cabin. I'll just grab a ticket to Magson, and kill Hitirin on the ship. Huh. For some reason, the idea killing Hitirin on a ship gives me deja vu. Probably remembering a dream I had, or something. Having gotten all the information I needed, I started to head back to Gahran. |

Gahran is seen talking to some human at the alleyway you left him. The man turns to face you. He's military, obviously, and seems to be familiar with Gahran.
"Hey, is this the man you were talking about?" the soldier asks. |

| "What are you on about?" I ask the soldier. Why was Gahran talking to a soldier, and why was I mentioned? I already didn't like where this was going. |

"Ahh, Ishmael, this is the son of one of my friends. I was in the military with him once, fought in a war against Everwrath you see. Unfortunately I had gotten too old to be in it and had to drop out. Well, it was nice seeing you, Belron. Have some good luck. Tell your father I said hi. Maybe he and I can go drinking together when I get back."
The man, Belron, leaves, and for the first time, it strikes you at how old Gahran really is. Not like's he's shaking and in need of a walking stick, but it appears to you that he could be a father at his age, maybe the grandfather of a baby. |

| "I never noticed you were so old. Careful that you don't break your back," I quip, smiling slightly to myself, "I think I know what ship Hitirin's going to be on. We'll need 15 copper each to get on it though." |

"That's gonna be pushing the funds given to us a little bit, but we can afford it and we'll still have enough to get an airship for most of the way back," Gahran says, searching his bag for some coins. "28... 29... 30! Here you go."
He gives you the coins, and then says, "Should we head out now?" |

As much as I wanted to make a bit of coin from stealing here, I really did need to keep my mind on the task at hand. That, and trying to commit crimes with Gahran around probably wasn't in my best interest. There'd be time to break the law after I finish my penance for breaking the law. "Mmhmm, nothing else I feel like doing here," I say, heading with Gahran back to the ships. |

You walk onto the ship, eyes peeled for Hitirin.
New Quest! Redemption? (This is a Required Quest)
You have boarded the ship where you believe Hitirin to be on. You need to kill him in order to spared the jail sentence. He's trapped on this ship now though, and finding and killing him will be a simple matter almost like eating with a fork.
"So, where do you want to start? I'd recommend we split up, but I worry he'll recognize us and pick us off one by one. We're trapped in an airborne ship with the enemy, a situation that could backfire on us before we blinked. I think it's safer we stay together." |

"That's probably best," I said. As much as I'd like to do this on my own, I didn't have much experience in assassination. And this Hitirin, he was skilled enough to assassinate a general. "If the information I got was accurate, Hitirin should have his own private cabin. We just need to figure out where his cabin is, and we should be able to get our job done." |

"Well, I can narrow it done for you. Look around."
You notice that not only has the ship started moving, but it's ridiculously cramped, more than an airship usually is.
"When there's so many people," Gahran begins, "it becomes harder to reserve a cabin. The price goes up. When you think about it, Hitirin may not have enough money to afford anything more than the cheapest one. Those would be on the lowest deck that's available to us. We can narrow our search to there." |

As you climb down, Gahran begins running his mouth.
"You know, I wonder how this iss going to be like. In the military, the battalion I was in once found itself ambushed by the Everwrath and we were completely surrounded. I wonder if... uh... Ishmael, look."
You look at the direction of his gaze as you reached the lowest deck you could get to. There, right there, was Hitirin, staring at you two completely shocked. And then, he turns around into a hall, and runs.
"Looks like we ambushed him!" Gahran says, jumping off the stairs and unsheathing his spear as he chases after the target. |
