1) Very fast. (All programs should open in less than a second or two.) 2) Internet Explorer = removed, new Browser called Microsoft Edge, which apparently will be a big competitor with Chrome. 3) Cortana is now on PC (Like Siri but made by Microsoft). 4) Multitasking is easier. 5) You will be able to literally livestream games from your Xbox to your PC over wifi. 6) New Win10 apps are better.
Those are just the ones I know. There's probably more.

"You will be able to literally livestream games from your Xbox to your PC over wifi."
Not just that, you'll be able to play Xbox games and compete with console players.
I tried many Windows 10 Technical Previews, OS looks really nice and the new browser is super clean, modern and fast |

lmao @super
obviously you're just going by windows 8
look here bud, i'm a fellow developer and i've studied windows 10 a lot via tech preview, it's way better than w8.
apps are actually really nice, they don't force fullscreen like w8 and they look modern, more clean and easier to use.
that botnet analogy is just so stupid i won't even bother arguing against that
it has webkit-like behaviours, its built on the edgehtml engine, which, big surprise, is made by microsoft. it's 100% microsoft made, not based off another engine or design tool
windows 10 allows you to snap 4 windows in each corner at once, really useful for multitasking. w8 only allowed 2 |

@audio
when have you actually used an app outside of being forced to use reader for PDFs?
they are designed for a tablet environment. not for serious usage.
botnet is exaggerated, but the fact that you have to login with a microsoft account to use it ( at least you did when I tested it ) is absolutely ridiculous.
the fact that the web browser is 100% internal with microsoft isn't ok with me, but thats a personal complaint.
I can agree with that last point, as 8 makes it an absolute pain to work with 4k monitors, having no native 4 window snapping |

that honestly wasn't the point i was trying to make, i was just saying no the apps are not horrible, they are actually quite good, regardless of how often it's being used
i think the microsoft acc thing was just to check your country because when w10 was in tech preview you had to be in the US to use Cortana. I'm unsure if that's still the case
while microsoft has a bad reputation with making browsers (internet explorer) microsoft honestly did a good job this time, if there were useful extensions (adblock, web of trust, email notifier, vpn, etc) then it would be my go-to browser in a heartbeat |

fair enough, but the apps really have no place in a desktop environment, which makes power users completely left out in this revision.
unfortunately, I'm fairly certain that's a permanent installment, microsoft account required for Cortana usage.
microsoft is actually incorporating backwards compatibility with chrome extensions, so you'll be happy to hear that. unfortunately, I'll never be able to leave chromium.
its not a bad OS, but its not a desktop OS |

the "oh its a beta" argument isn't acceptable for an OS.
all of your arguments for 10 were subjective or simply false. |

I can agree with that, while I will use the apps fairly often myself they're nothing to get hyped about, they're just regular apps that work well
to be honest I think that's based on personal preference, I honestly didn't mind using Edge at all on my desktop with a non-touchscreen 22 inch monitor, while it is touchscreen and tablet optimized, in my opinion it works just as well as a desktop browser too
chromium is an amazing browser so I understand that, to be honest I'm not sure if I'm going to switch to Edge once the backwards compatibility is installed, it's a great browser and all but chrome/chromium/canary is a big favourite of mine so once that's implemented in Edge i'll have to see how it does
I personally think it's a great desktop OS, but I understand if people are still mad that it's more tablet-focused, but if you've seen the technical preview or even pictures of it I think you can agree that it's a much better option for desktops than Windows 8 is

chances are the extension compatability will be 1:1 features wise compared to chrome, since microsoft knows how much leaving technical features out of browser can hurt them (cough cough IE+javascript)
different strokes for different folks, I personally use my desktop for visual studio, eclipse, VMs, and games. the upgrade to 10 holds no value to me, as it doesn't seem to offer any bonuses that windows 8 with metro gutted from it doesn't already have. |
