| Wait so ~= nil is the same as == nil? Since nil means nothing, non existent and if you checked if a value is true wouldn't it be the same? |

nil means non-existent
so if I said ~= nil, its like saying "Is not non-existent"; or "Does exist"
so if I say "Moving is not non-existent", it means "Moving is true" |

Take ~= out of your head and read it as "not" everytime you see it
~= nil
"not" nil nil = nothing
"not" nothing = it is something
