I have to give my phone to my parents every night at 9 PM. And I don't get it back until 12 PM the next day. Except for most days like today, my family is at work and they took my phone so I won't get it back until 2 PM... And they constantly check it and won't let me have Snapchat or Twitter. Only Instagram, and they monitor that too. |

They seem very dictatorial on that, to be honest. I can see the reasoning behind it, but this is really not a solution. Though, on the other hand, a phone is not really necessary. You can live a few hours without it.

@The,
I play sports so I'm not constantly on it anyway. But I just think it's unfair because they won't let me be on it half the time I have it anyway and it's annoying because I want to talk to friends past that time. |

They sound over protective.
They probably think its for your own benefit with all the "stranger danger" stuff but it isnt preparing you for older life. |

They're just being protective.
If you don't like it, tell them you're sensible and won't contact strangers you don't know.
Tell them you know it's fine to tell your age, name, but not address or location. |

That's kind of creepy tbh. You're 15 and they're monitering everything you do. They seem very overprotective and kind of controlling. |

Yeah, I understand. If you have a phone, you should be able to use it yourself at any time. And really, 'protecting' your child from the things that happen is bs, because eventually you will know or find out anyway. Having them know and understand whatever happens in the world or around them is actually better for the children to get used to and accept such events.

They just give me a lot of rules. They also only let me on my Xbox for an hour so I barely have time to play with friends. Plus, they take my controller with them everywhere they go.
But getting back on topic, what's the point of giving me a phone if you're just going to have it half the time? They're at work, so what if I'm hurt or need to contact them...? I'm not going to disturb a neighbor...
Also, sometimes they reply to my text messages if I get any past 9. |

| @dark that is completely a invasion of privacy, if I was you, I would just take my phone and smash it, because whats the point of giving someone a phone when they practically can't use it at all. |

@The,
Yeah they treat my sister way better than me. They've always favorited her and always let her phone with her whenever.
I'm honestly wanting to move out once I graduate. |

You really need a strong conversation with them about this. I am 17, but at the age of 13 I pretty much had the exact same freedom I have now.

Yeah, they're sending me to public school this year for high school, and fortunately I can have my phone and I'm allowed to date. But, they don't tolerate me cussing. I'm like "why did you send me to public school if you don't want me dropping F bombs around my friends...?" |
