| I don't see the problem with it. Words are taboo because we make them taboo. |

| You are not the only one. I hate seeing children curse. It's just as sick, if not sicker than seeing a 90 year old hag cursing. |

@Uppercut
I also believe it's due to the influence of things they see on the internet and games.
For example those people who play GTA V and cuss every three seconds.
I have no problems with GTA V, but it disturbs me that young children watch those videos as they take on influence from those teenagers and young men that they shouldn't be picking up at their age. |

I view swearing as something I tolerate but only when caused by emotions and pain.
I've no quarrel with someone who swears out of exclamation, fear, anger, or other emotional peaks. But when someone is mouthing those words out randomly for no reason, I do not tolerate it and see them as a vulgar person. This only is increased at how some of them are children who should be exploring their lives and learning as opposed to talking about their new favorite "Naughty" word.. |

| I think there is more a psychological aspect behind it more than anything else. Regardless what any of the kids tell you, most households DO NOT allow cursing from their children. When they come online, and type it out, it helps them achieve some form of emotional catharsis, and a sense of empowerment. "Ha! I'm online, they don't know me, and my parents can't stop me!" This mindset can also, to some degree, explain the extensiveness, and degree of profanity. |

@Inks
What I'm saying is that they should have more self control. For example, words that are filtered due to being profane or to insulting on roblox shouldn't be heard from the mouths of children under thirteen at least.
Although I do agree with a previous persons statement about parents.
Parents have a major impact on how their children grow up to be. |

That's a very well written statement and I do agree with it. To an extent, it probably accounts for nearly all of us on the forums.
To be honest, it reminds me of a tulpa nearly. (What if we all talk through a online tulpa subconsciously without even regarding it, you are ghost to me and to you I'm action.)
People on here don't have to worry about being judged as nearly as much since we are all practically anonymous.
It hasn't been until the last year or so myself that I've brought my internet personality and my real life personality closer to being one. |

@Casper, you are correct to a degree. Whilst a parent can reprise, and limit cursing at home, or when the child is out with them, they cannot stop it from happening on a playground, or breaks. Most kids will avoid saying it around teachers, for fear of meaningful reprisal by way of principals, or parent notifications. Another way they bypass it again, is online. Most of the overbearing profanity is again, born of a sense of empowerment. Parents aren't always the ones to blame. You can have great parents, and a simple case of RCS. (Rebellious Child Syndrome.) A lot of that is born by external influences. The ideal parent wouldn't allow their children to do the following:
-Use a computer without supervision. -Own a personal laptop, or smartphone until they are 17+ -Restrict whom they associate with. (On, or offline.)
Instead, they'd teach the following:
-Embracing of a unique self. (Not trying to fit in.) -Nurturing of their unique personality with rewards for self acceptance. -Basic moralism. (Right, and wrong.) -Self preservation. (Perhaps the most important thing.) |
