Yes. I am LGBT myself but I get so annoyed when people keep trying to add new letters on it. I'd seen like LGBTQA+ and tons of crazy stuff before.
I don't even get the purpose. You'll never have enough letters to include EVERYONE.
I view LGBT as a word that represents something in itself, irrespective of the letters that make it up. |

Or we can get rid of the word "LGBT" entirely and address people by their names.

Labeling ourselves is a huge problem. It obscures reality. Look at the Stanford Prison Experiment. That proved that when people are given labels, they change their behavior to better match that label.
So I don't think people should be so quick to label themselves, especially in things like gender and orientation that are not completely clear. We should just live our lives as who we are and forget about labels.
"Society loves not realities and creators, but names and customs." - Ralph Emerson

I don't see how it comforts people. Some of these "labels" just get people bullied.

@Muffled
It's comforting, sure. But also believing a magic skydaddy is watching you is also comforting.
Just because something is comforting doesn't mean it's rational or good.

@Satan
In my view, as I was saying, LGBT includes the A as well.
Because I don't view "LGBT" as the letters that comprise it, but as a word in itself that includes all non-conformist orientations and gender identities. |
