You're right.
It doesn't belong to a category of numbers lower than the natural numbers, so it isn't THAT kind of number.

I found in the mathematics' interger book 2. Also I found "every interger is a number".
I object to the MLG meme! |

Let me explain.
Numbers from -9 to 9 are figures. Any number after that are numbers because they are COMBINED NUMBERS. Because you can only use those 19 figures if you want to make any number past 9 or before -9.
It's a bit like words and letters. You're not gonna call A or B words, would you?
Letters make up words. Figures make up numbers.

...Hm? Then let me tell you this.
Let's take another number such as 2.00.
2.00 = 2. You can agree with that, right?
However, according to your definition, 2.00 is a number and not a figure. You can also agree with that, right?
2.00 = 2. 2.00 = A number. 2 = A number. There.

| >I< am >A< person. >U< >R< >A< person. XD We can even make words words. Not words letters, because they are words. I bet you have texted before and said something about U R (something). |

Dear dear.
Okay.
Let's take the number : 2.10
10 is the digit, 2 is the figure. 10 is a number digit, while 2 is the figure.
If it was I dunno 2.1 it would be there shown as a figure digit, not a number digit.
And don't start on 00. 00 is nothing.

A digit is part of a number. A digit pretty much is a number. 2.10 = 2.1 2.1 = 2 and .1 .1 is part of a number, but is taken FROM a number, so it can still technically be a number. .1*10 = 1, which is a number, so .1 could actually possibly be multiple numbers. .1*10 is 10 numbers, not digits. 1*10 = .1, which is a number divided by itself. |

Besides, if 2 isn't a number, then tell me what 15 - 13 is.
