the alienware alpha is okay, given it's a prebuilt and the price
but build your own pc |

"well first off is building one hard or incredibly pricy at all?"
not very hard
just look things up to find out how to put it together, and it's cheaper than buying a prebuilt

you'll save some money building your own, and it's pretty simple
it's just a matter of following instructions
there are a lot of pc build instruction videos on youtube |

you could have a pretty nice tower for $500
pcpartpicker's a good place to start
you can choose your parts, or you can use a preset list and work from there |

depends on how much you're willing to spend, really
but the build I'm planning on using is ~700-750 USD:
EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti Superclocked, 2GB GDDR5, DP, HDMI, DV Zalman Z1 Midi Tower, ATX, USB3.0 Seasonic 550W G-550 semi-modular ATX PSU, 80 Plus Gold Asus Z97-P, LGA1150, Intel Z97, DDR3, ATX Intel Haswell i5-4690K, LGA1150, 3.5GHz, 6MB Crucial 8GB (1 x 8GB), DDR3 1600MHz, CL11, 1.5V

@lord i have two problems with that build
1. a 750 ti with a 4690k get a r9 380
2. why one stick of ram if that stick fails, you have no ram
get two 4gb sticks |

I'm going for the 750Ti because it's pretty reasonably priced and plan on updating later on. A 380 would add another ~100€ to the price.
Yeah, I'm thinking of going for a 2x4GB instead of that 1x8.

| I've heard that the Titan GTX is the best GPU out there, I didn't come up with that myself. |

no, and if you're really lazy, build fifty bucks into the budget and pay NCIX.us to build it for you |

Just buy a computer don't build one. If you build one and it breaks you pay for it(no warranty), it is a lot more likely to break if you build it and have no experience(which you don't it seems) and also just having a computer that is statistically superior doesn't mean it is superior in every way. You have to think about the location of the components for cooling and such as well as how different components work with other components. Take Nvidia GPUs for example.... Nvidia builds more powerful cards than AMD at the top of the line but Nvidia also crashes with certain apps and programs but statistically it is better. In the end it depends on what you do.
Listen to me, don't, flame me, I don't care but this is my advice to you |
