Sure, everyone needs love. But the fact that they need to shove their ideals down our throats and having a parade thrown for them everyday is annoying and irritating. Sure, I can see how they are trying to raise awareness or how some people would say "Trying to not be forgotten". Straights don't throw parades or force their ideals onto other people and you don't see them being forgotten. Mainly because there is a vast majority of straights all over the planet.

But whatever. I'm not part of their community so therefore it's not my business. Anyone who says "I need to care more" needs to stop. Just because I don't talk about them frequently or throw parties and parades doesn't mean I hate them. Now that LGBT marriage has been legalized everyone came out of the closet and it has been irritating me since. My friends coming up to me out of the blue and coming out of the closet. Because all of a sudden being LGBT became "a trend" you don't automatically become LGBT. Doesn't work that way. But again, not my business because it doesn't apply to me.

I'm happy to get that off my chest.

I saw some person make a white supremacy twitter the other day, that's why I don't like white people

I don't care who people like, and I don't see why it would ever be my business.

I don't think they're trying to shove their ideals down your throat.

But what irritates me more is what I previously stated. Now everyone "Thinks" they belong to that community. It became a trend when I was in school and is still a trend. Why would you want people making fun of you because you all of a sudden became LGBT. Makes no sense.

The reason I said that is because "But the fact that they need to shove their ideals down our throats and having a parade thrown for them everyday is annoying and irritating." is as stupid as the comment I made.

You're stereotyping an entire community based upon what you hear about. You're also exaggerating what goes on with the parades, and what they stand for. No one cares to shove anything down your throat, the parades are to celebrate who you are. If being yourself is the purpose of those demonstrations, what makes you think anyone is trying to shove ideals down your throat?

If you find it annoying, don't take part in them. I don't particularly like Mardi Gras parades, but I don't complain when they go on.

@Say; They have a parade thrown for them a few times a month or at least once a month. It's silly. I get it, you're happy that you now have the rights to marry. But why must you show off?

My goodness. Throughout all the bullying and hate that these people receive through their lives, they can't have a day per-year set aside in each city to celebrate themselves and find their community to fit into?

Overall, your post was ignorant and it's clear you have no absolute grasp as to what this topic contains.

"Because all of a sudden being LGBT became "a trend" you don't automatically become LGBT. Doesn't work that way. But again, not my business because it doesn't apply to me."

This is the most concerning, however. Being straight isn't a trend, and it never was. This sort of thing isn't a trend, and it never will be. I'd imagine a trend would be something considered cool by a large majority of people, however, these individuals still face persecution. Just as being straight isn't a trend, neither is this.

No one's asking you to care more, as it seems you've found your own level of caring and it's accompanied with ignorance.

@Sword; What I'm trying to get across here is that I feel okay if they're happy that they have same rights as straights. LGBT are a known community. Nearly the entire world knows about this community. You don't need to have awareness days and such just to get known. If you see relations with the same gender you know they are part of that community and is quite obvious to point out. Just like if a man was having relations with a woman it is pretty obvious that they're straight. LGBT will not be forgotten because we all know they exist and see people from that community here and there. But why must you throw parades and parties and such? The war between marriage is over. Why must we still show "Who you are" and "what you stand for". It's not like the entire LGBT community has a disease or they are raising awareness for cancer or other issues in the world other then medical issues.

Sword, OP makes a point though.

While we're at it we can get rid of black history month, all religious holidays, observance days and all that junk.

And yes, people are telling me to care more and people all around me are pretending to be LGBT because it happens all the damn time in my hometown. This is why I'm saying this.

I doubt my hometown isn't the only ones. There might be others who pretend and tell people to care more in other parts of the world as well. So if anyone is having these types of problems then I am addressing THEM.

It's because the majority will remain the majority, as the minority will remain the minority. The parades are there to express and show individuality within >everyone<, while recognizing a certain minority.

Tell them to stop turning a minority into a fad. This isn't a fad, nor do the people within that minority consider it appropriate to class yourself in their category if they don't truly belong.

But like I previously mentioned. If you see a man doing acts of more then just kindness to a man of the same gender is it obvious they are part of that community which reminds you of the LGBT and reminds you there are still LGBT people today. Again, it's not something that can easily be forgotten. Especially places like social media.

@Raven, why is there St. Patrick's day? All it's doing is for a race. Why's there holidays for races, why can't there be something for people who want to be accepted by everyone else?

Also, I went to a parade and it was great everyone was cool.

Why's it even matter if they have a parade?
