Hello all, and my brother is considering asking for an HP Stream this Christmas.
Well, he plays ROBLOX, and this is one of the things he'd do on it. However, I've never used a laptop with these specs before, and I have one question: How well would ROBLOX run on a 2GB RAM and an Intel Celeron processor? I have a feeling it wouldn't fare too well.

get something like a dell or a lenovo. those usually have better specs than HP computers of the same price range.

I have 6 GB of RAM and I need more than 2 GB. Also I don't think a Celeron would run well. A Core i5 or better and 4 GB or better.

core i5? not when op is on a tight budget. he didn't specify anything about hardcore multitasking,no need for the extra cores

The best spec would be at least a i3 or i5, with around 6gb of ram.

You should have at least a Intel i3 core with 6GB or more ram for smooth gameplay.

No, get something better. The celeron was the worst out of all the Intel Processors. Get more than 2 GB RAM too.

"Celeron"

Excuse me while I barf.

Unless you'll be playing single-player games such as A Lucid Dream, 2 GB of RAM and a Celeron wouldn't do any good.

It will be alright. ROBLOX requires only a gig.
But for other games, if you are looking to play them, wouldn't really work for you.
Most computers in market have 4GB of RAM.
The processor will be alright too, but if you try to play other games then it wouldn't work out.

2Gb would work just really slow.If you wanted a fast computer for other games likes steam or fighting video games on roblox dont get it.Also Watch out for roblox studio its will be really slow.So its pretty cheap but then theres that that makes it really slow

I would recommend getting a Dell desktop with 4GB or more RAM and a good graphics card with at least 250mb.

I have 2.2ghz processor and 2gb ram in a vista PC. It can run roblox fine, although at graphics 1 or 2.
It's harder to build though.

Well,

Stream 11:
Intel Celeron N2840 with Intel HD Graphics (2.58 GHz, Dual Core)
2 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM
11.6 HD Screen
Full-Blown Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64 Bit)

Steam 13:
Intel Celeron N2840 with Intel HD Graphics (2.58 GHz, Dual Core)
2 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM
13.6 HD Screen
Full-Blown Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64 Bit)

If I were you, I would get a PC With 4 GB+ Of ram to play ROBLOX On. But these specs seem okay, With the 2.58 GHz Processor. Dual Core Processors do not do multitasking the best, so watch out how many applications you have. I also like the fact that the Microsoft Windows 8.1 is a 64 Bit Operating System in the Stream 11 and 13, so that makes it a little easier and faster, too. The Downside to this is the HP Stream 11 / Stream 13 only have 32 GB eMMc cards, which you will only have about 20 GB of storage left, Including the Microsoft Office subscription you get when the Stream is purchased. I would recommend this to you, but no multitasking large programs at a single time.

Plus, 2 GB would get you low FPS (Frames Per Second) and that is a HUGE factor in today's modern gamers. Low FPS = Lag and nobody likes that. The RAM is On-Board, which means you will not be eligible to replace / upgrade it.

So, Basically, ROBLOX Will Run OKAY on the laptop, but expect some lag here and there in some large games.

I'd recommend the Dell Inspirion M5040 for ROBLOX. It's the Laptop I use, and it runs perfectly well. It has 4 gigs of RAM, and an AMD E3 processor @1.60GHz. Even though the processor is at a low frequency, ROBLOX runs surprisingly well.

It has 2 cores that run @1.60GHz, and 4 gigs of ram, and you can upgrade it to 8gb. It's a good laptop for ROBLOX, and most VALVE games, like Garry's Mod and Portal 2.
