It has to be Macklemore for me. He raps about chasing your dreams, but he tells the truth about the world- it's not all that sunshine and rainbow bull some singers make it out to be. |

honestly it was music without vocals that just sounded uplifting past a certain point my depression got so bad that only my friends' and little sisters' love really pushes me forward |

| If you are looking for songs to cheer you up I would recommend Castle and And We Danced by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, any song by The Lonely Island and Taylor Swift. They help me when I am down 👍👍👍 |

@sup oh i didnt know that also, urban dictionary's definition of husk (the one used here): "husk A person who has no substance, personality, character or knowledge. An empty shell of a human."

@sup both pretty much family's going through hard times, and my professionally diagnosed depression and PTSD (long story involving my mother, i won't go any further on the topic) don't help that much plus just general stress of lower-middle-class-except-now-im-pretty-much-lower-class life.

Michael Jackson
I loved his moves (except the dance move where he grabs his cr*tch..), His songs & talent. He had an amazing voice & Big Albums & Hits. He's the one that inspired me (Even though when i was little, it was 2011 (wasn't a fan at the time) & i though Michael Jackson was still alive because of a poster of the immortal tour with mj on it. But then i figured out he died in 2009. Then i became a fan after listening to some of his songs.) I have almost EVERY song & album on iTunes. I have others but MJJ is the one that inspired me to Sing & Write Songs. |

i haven't had any remotely bad depression yet, and in general have been happy all my life, so i can't contribute to what raised my mood in bad situations
but
i have both an extremely hard time falling asleep and waking up. i'll spend hours lying fully awake in bed no matter how tired i am, but when i "wake up" i'll fall asleep the very moment i sit down anywhere for the first two hours. once i'm actually up i can stay awake for 18+ hours on end and feel fine, just the beginning and end of the day is a problem.
every day when i woke up i used to listen to "animus vox" by the glitch mob if i ever had the time. it's an intense song due to the atmosphere, but it's not directly heavy. anything directly heavy would make me more tired than before. but the way the song built up would get me going just enough to make it through the first part of the day. so if that counts as inspiration, i'll have to put in the glitch mob.
going to bed, interestingly enough, the band that would do it for me is behemoth. i just listen to the entirety of the satanist, and i sleep better than usual. the sheer sense of atmosphere (the best i've ever heard from any album ever) of this hellish visions of darkness, where suddenly you get assaulted with nergal's fiercest growls, rapid blast beats, and a massive wall of guitars and bass, all at once. it makes me feel so tense, it tires me mentally. once again, not directly heavy, instead preferring to create atmosphere. that's what lets me fall asleep.
so tl;dr the glitch mob and behemoth. |
