I've been interested in learning it, but I really don't know where to start. I used to mess around with it here on Roblox back in 2009-2011 (I even bought a book for it back in summer 2009), but I never really learned it to an extent where I could script my own things from scratch.
My problem is that I can't seem to find a solid path for me to follow, that will allow me to learn all the crucial elements of the language. I was wondering if you had any suggestions? Thanks. |

Here's how I do it: Get an idea. What does your game need? For example you'd think of kill bricks. Open script writer and see if you can do it. Can? Great! Can't? Open a kill brick free model and see what it says. Can you understand what it says? Can you read the script? Did it help you understand your mistakes when you wrote it yourself? Good, now delete the free model and rewrite your script, it should work now. Repeat with more advanced stuff.

I guess that a goal helps a lot. But do not aim too high, if you script just for script it gets meaningless and you won`t remember a thing a week later.
