Hello, and welcome to another ATR Discussion! This next discussion is about if Post Count should be removed or not and what you think. So let's get to it!
My thoughts:
Post count is like a badge or a crown, and I personally think if they remove it, people wouldn't believe you except if you got a snapshot of it. |

It's not about how many times you win, what matters is HOW you win. |

I'll repost what I put in the other thread. Your "badge or crown" becomes worthless when people use spam-bots to get a high post count. |

It's a mark of your history on the forums, and if you've been here for a long time, then you can show that. However, yes. They give people a false sense of worth. They should be removed.

I'm going to give my opinion, but keep in mind that my opinion =/= what is going to happen--though if it did I wouldn't be broken up about it. Currently I am not aware of any plans to remove post count so don't start rioting.
I think we absolutely should remove post count. Post count is inherently negative and harmful for discussion, especially when post bots are so common. No one who boasts about having so many posts gets them legitimately anymore, they're almost always spam botted.
Spam, useless botting, and bumping all harm thread quality and prevent real discussion. Along with this, its used as a way to perpetuate hate and reject "newbs" despite the fact that new users have just as much right to discuss things as any other user.
Removing post count would be a blessing, not a curse.

@slingshot
But we know who the botters are so they don't get any credit anyways, I've been actively apart of the forums for a very long time and it's one of the real reasons I still play roblox
It gives people pride and gives them goals as well, it also does keep forums active whether it's a good post or not. |

Lol. Post count isn't going to get removed, guys. This is a discussion, not a confirmation.

"god no"
The only reason you say that is because of your high post count. It's really not something to be proud of.

| It's not only bots that are the problem. People can still post useless things all over the place to get a high post count. Not to mention subforums like LMaD where people commonly have very short posts because of how fast-paced it is there. |

@JohnnyFlight You may be right, but that's not why botters are a problem. Botters are a problem BECAUSE they bot, not whether or not they're accepted. Bots mess with the forums, ruin posts, and are a pain for moderators. I've been on the forums longer than anyone (I started in 2006 when there was only like 5 forums) and this didn't use to be a problem but now it is and we need to adapt to meet it.
@Mw2ismylife I have to disagree--it would completely stop botters. What would they have left to spam? Maybe another website, but ROBLOX is where my concern is. We want to get rid of botters from our forums, removing post counts would be the best way to do that.
It doesn't show if they're trustworthy though--I've seen a lot of bad users with a lot of (legit non-bot) forum posts. In fact, most of the biggest trouble makers on the forums have more than 5k posts. It isn't about ruining it for people who enjoy it, its about changing the forums for the better. I think we can all agree that it would make for better quality posts.
PS: I like your siggy 1P4, very Picard-esque.
