What real purpose does it have? Of course, the higher the post count usually means the more respected and trustable a person is on a forum. But that's not always the case. Many people take advantage of the system and use it as something to claim superiority over someone else with a lower post count. People shouldn't be respected/disrespected based on how many posts they have. The true way people need to be respected is by the quality of their threads.
I analyzed the benefits of the removal, which are listed here: --------------------------------------------------- • superiority over players with post count will be abolished for good • the treatment of players on the forums will be even more equalized than right now • the content of the thread will matter much more than it is now • players, new or older, will get better feedback from other players because they won't be discriminated or judged based on whether they're new to the forums or not, because post count removal will hide that and everybody will be at an equal level • players will no longer be classified based on their post count. the quality of the post itself will be what matters if post count is removed which is a lot better than relying on post count to determine the quality of that person • more reliable and respectful feedback rather than discriminating and rude replies because right now, according to the forum community, 'people with a low post count don't matter as much as high post count people'
There is only a few cons, which eventually would be forgotten about after post-counts would be removed ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • players who have spent a lot of time trying to get a high post count will be upset because they spent time 'earning' that post count to get a higher social status • players with a high post count will be upset because they will no longer have their high social status in the forums and will be at an equal level (too bad so sad, post count does not matter) • players will riot and complain because of how it's "been with us for so long and it's a traditional feature" (in my opinion, who cares? it's useless) • players who have been in the forums for a while will be upset because they don't want to give the newer community a chance to be at equal level with those who have more "higher status" in the forum community
In conclusion, player post count does not matter. It does not define who we are, but since it's there right now, players are wrongfully judged by it. The forums are a place for respectful discussion, not the judgement of others based on a silly post count.
---------------------------------------------------- TL;DR (for you lazy people) ------------------------- Post count is useless. It has no purpose other than to allow the forum community to judge others wrongfully and give those with a high post count a higher social status and level. People with a lower post count "don't matter" according to the forum community. If it was removed, everyone would be at an equal level and people would be more respected and gain better feedback to their threads as well as equal treatment to those of "high social status."

They already removed KOs, so what's the god damn point anymore? We may aswell just remove ANY SOURCE OF ACHIEVEMENT, all because some people want to freaking brag.
Don't bother. |

| The KOS/WOS feature wasn't as useless as post count. KOS/WOS had a use. Some clans had a requirement of specific amount of KOS in order to enter, and now that it is removed it interferes with those applications. Although, the feature did have inflation because of the "KO Machine", and many players did brag. Post count though is practically useless, and it has no achievements what-so-ever. |

@sup
Who cares? That's basically what everybody does for every single update because they don't like it. After a week or so, people just begin to move on and forget about it. Same with this. Players complaining doesn't matter or affect anybody and it eventually wears out in about a week or so. That's just a short-term effect that goes away. |

So if you don't care about your post count, why not support this? |

because everyone thinks it's going to be removed because a mod agreed
mod agrees =/= going to happen
and it's just pointless to remove post count for multiple reasons of which are obvious |

Explain to me how the removal is pointless if you don't care about your post count. There are many good long-term effects the removal has for the forums and cons (which shouldn't even be cons because it's about players complaining) that will go away after a week or two. It's absolutely pointless to keep it because all of these issues of high social status based on post count and newer people with a low post count will continue to be treated unfairly. The quality of the threads are what matter the most, not the post count. And post count causes many issues in the forums, like I said, the level of social status and treatment. |

and here we see someone who demands explanation because his highest belief is that he cannot possibly be wrong
if people have problems with their post count being shown, ignore it or don't post on the forums. if you're being attacked by it, say you don't care, ignore it, or suck it up. it's that simple. |

| Some people want good feedback from others and want to post on the forums but they can't because no matter what they post they get discriminated for the most wrong reasons. By the way, I notice that people with a higher post count don't support this and make up excuses that are unreasonable instead of just removing post count once and for all. |

you have to accept the fact that people are not agreeing on this, and try again later |

| When was this about mods supporting it? By the way, I'm not abandoning this. The only reason why is because it's a useless feature, and if you can't accept that it's because you either "worked a long way to get to it so I can get a high social status" or you're just those type of people who I mentioned in the actual thread that will complain because they will be equalized at the same level of social status with newer people. |

and yeah you need to accept that some people just aren't going to agree with you
dismissing what I'm saying and accusing me of not agreeing because of being my post count is not a valid reason; many people are aware i care little about my post count |

now you're becoming funny
you are literally accusing me of lying about what i said
i have already stated that i don't care about my post count and that i don't agree with the thread, i gave my reasons, and you just say that my opinion doesn't matter
more proof that you feel that you are the almighty master and can't possibly be told you are wrong. you need to learn that not everyone is going to agree with you, and you need to learn how to accept differing opinions. |

| I do accept the fact that 3 people don't support, because many others will support for sure, and I know that because those people not only don't care about their post count but they don't care about other people's post counts, which is something you didn't mention. 3 people aren't going to stop me from continuing this thread, so if you don't support then just ignore this thread and move on. |

ah, the amazing "lol if u don't support then just don't post"
if you don't want a god damned opinion, DON'T POST YOUR THREAD IN S&I.
we are open to express our reasons, and tell you of them as long as we want even if we don't support. |
