Anybody can get PTSD.
But it's probably common for people who have served in the US Military to get PTSD. |

I've never thought that. But I'm going to guess the majority of cases result from combat, not normal civilians experiencing trauma.

im sure it is, nobody is gonna deny that, but it's also probably common for citizens who live in combat zones to get PTSD as well and i mean nobody seems to mention them when PTSD gets brought up |

| Anyone can get PTSD, but people shame depress-y teenagers who have it/claim to have it because they haven't been exposed to war like soldiers |

"but people shame depress-y teenagers who have it/claim to have it because they haven't been exposed to war like soldiers" PTSD isn't the same thing as depression. There has to be a traumatic experience involved, but with most cases of depression there is none.

Everyone who I have known to claim that they have PTSD were also depressed so
And it sucks that depression often has no traumatic cause because I have these annoying episodes where I am just really apathetic/emotionless/depressed but my mom does nothing. It really pisses me off how my parents don't understand me when both sides of my family have histories of mental disorders

"Everyone who I have known to claim that they have PTSD were also depressed so" It's a square rectangle thing. If you have PTSD you most likely have depression, but if you have depression you don't necessarily have PTSD.
