What makes teenage males enjoy brightly colored horses? Of which, the show was intended for a MUCH lower age audience, and the opposite gender, too. |

@Cricket. That's one of the most moronic things I've ever heard. I've developed over a dozen brain tumors from reading that, |

vaping is fine. everything surrounding it is far from it. |

@Crickets. I'd actually rather be around somebody who uses that than somebody using an actual cig. But if you feel that way, okay. |

You're asking why people like a TV show? Hasbro has embraced bronies and hasbro doesn't care if older audiences watch the show. Just because you watch one episode, don't expect to instantly like the show. People have different preferences and liking and you need to respect that.

@Klooved. Calm the fanboyism there, mate. I was simply stating how I found it odd. No need to attack me. |

I'm not sure if you've been provided a substantial enough explanation, but I shall attempt to provide one, and perhaps be more concise about it than I normally am. First of all, yes, it was originally given a demographic of girls from 4-12. However, demographic means literally nothing in terms of quality, and people need to realize this. If something is meant for men from 18-24 -- such as the "Transformers" movies -- why do we accept the fact that tomboys will enjoy watching such things? Simple, they fit the quality standards of these people and thus they enjoy it, regardless of the intended audience and what society may think of it. The same principal goes for bronies as a whole.
If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. |

@Durgan. The whole giving life lessons, and the themesong alone seems like something that younger audiences alone should watch. But whatever. |

Well, you have to understand, even many bronies don't like the theme. I have to skip it if I watch an episode. It is somewhat obnoxious and only watchable if you can allow yourself to appreciate that the animation within it is absolutely amazing, especially so for Flash.
On the note of life lessons, however, you must understand that it is more of a family cartoon than a children's cartoon. It is meant to be a cartoon to be enjoyed by all people. For children it teaches basic and well-needed lessons on morality that I feel are very well-thought. For the older audience, it contains deeper themes and a more colorful emotional basis that allows viewers to be more involved with the story and themes. So, in essence, it allows older audiences more engagement and a deeper thought process, while younger viewers can derive a more basic philosophy from it. |

@OP When you say a show is meant for little girls, that is an opinion. When I appeal to a show because I enjoy it, that is my choice. Asking why people like things is a question that you answer yourself. If people want to like a TV show or any variety of things then that is their choice. You are not liable to what people watch, do, say, or think. Everyone has free will and everyone can do as they please. Physical age does not determine how the human mind perceives the outside world because here's a simple answer to your simple question; everyone is different. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a very interesting show that I watch and enjoy. Saying that my lickings are weird or different won't change the say I think because no matter what you say or do, you cannot force a person to enjoy or dislike something. The mind does not work that way.
