Everyone's doing it. Some are serious, others sarcastic. So, whatever.
I shared this a while ago, but I did write it for a certain woman.
Today, we stalled at the Crimson Tree,
With its burning leaves and many deeds;
We laid in ash and made to keep;
A world in fire, born to weep.
Today, we fell at the Crimson tree,
With its melted bed and smelted red;
We sunk in ember to rest our heads;
Our bodies broken, our hearts well-fed.
Today, we kissed at the Crimson Tree,
With its branches brazen and roots ablaze;
We sapped the fire and made to stay;
The day will end, and we will decay.
Today, we burnt down the Crimson Tree,
With its flaming bark and many sparks;
We came to see and clear the dark;
You and I, we've left our mark.
Yesterday, we had a Crimson Tree,
It had flaming bark and burning leaves;
It cleared the dark and made to keep.
But today, there is no need;
For, you and I, we're planting seeds;
And tomorrow, there may be;
More than one Crimson Tree.
