Trying to get fit is not fun at all! If you have a slower metabolism, you know how much effort you need to invest in your body. Exercising, eating healthy, saying no to pizza… those are just some of the sacrifices we all need to take from time to time. However, there are some foods that are less helpful than other foods. By eating healthy, you are controlling the intake of calories and fats. But if you don’t eat healthy enough, you are not going to lose weight easily. The chances are, you are gaining more weight. Try to avoid these foods if you want to get in shape quicker!
1. What’s so bad about smoothies?? It’s only fruits and yogurt, right? Well actually, smoothies are often made with milk or even ice cream. Most of these smoothies have tons of sugar in order to be”better” tasting . One smoothie with yogurt is therefore full of calories. To be more specific, one smoothie can have more calories than two Big Macs! That is about 1,044 calories for one 20-ounce smoothie. So if you want to get fit, stay away from smoothies!
2. Double Chocolaty Chip Frappuccino with whipped cream is possibly one of the best things you can buy at Starbucks. But you should know this: one double chocolaty chip frappuccino has about one third of the maximum fat you should have for one day. To be more precise, one 16-ounce frappuccino contains 510 calories and whopping 11 grams of saturated fat. Instead, go for a regular cup of coffee.
3. Jumbo Pretzel Dog you can find at Auntie Anne’s is not really a meal. When you think a bit more about it, Auntie Anne’s sells snacks. But the real reason why you should avoid Jumbo Pretzel Dog if you want to get fit is because it contains more than half of the upper limit of sodium and fat. Also, this Pretzel Dog contains 610 calories and 29 grams of fat. Instead, choose original pretzel without the butter and salt.
4. Cinnabon’s Caramel Pecanbon is something you want to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner, just by the look of it. But you need to know that this little sweet peace of heaven is not what you need if you want to get fit. Cinnabon Caramel Pecanbon has about half the calories and fat you need for a whole day. One cinnamon bun contains about 1,092 calories and 47 grams of sugar. If you can’t live without Cinnabons, try Minibon, a smaller version of fattening heaven.
5. Contrary to the popular belief, milkshakes doesn’t really bring all boys to the yard. Some of them might include all kinds of ice creams, milk and even peanut butter. A single milkshake can contain calories and fats for almost one whole day! However, when it comes to saturated fats, milkshakes can contain almost three and half times the daily limit. One milkshake contains about 2,010 calories and 153 grams of sugar.
6. Sweet and spicy boneless wings are great when you don’t know what to get for dinner. Or while you’re watching your favorite sports event. Or always? Anyway, when it comes to taste, sweet and spicy boneless wings are great. But when it comes to calories, it has about 550 calories and- 2,530 grams of sodium! These wings have more salt than you should have in one day. Instead, try grilled chicken breasts.
7. Muffins are often mistaken for a healthier substitute for donuts. However, muffins are very high in sugars and fat. Did you know that, in order to match its calories, you need to eat 3 glazed donuts. One muffin has approximately 620 calories and about 54 grams of sugar. So if you want to cut back on calories and sugar, better eat one glazed donut for breakfast. It has about 220 calories and it tastes good.
8. You might wonder what’s so bad about olive garden’s grilled shrimp caprese. Shrimp are low-fat, right? However, the garlic butter sauce in this fantastic dish is not helping you lose weight, at all. Actually, it has about two-thirds of daily fat. Also, garlic sauce has about one half of a daily sodium limit. One plate of olive garden’s grilled shrimp caprese contains 900 calories and 3,490 mg of sodium.
9. The heir to the Awesome Blossom’s throne, Chili’s Onion String and Crispy Jalapeno Stack is not a better solution if you’re trying to lose some weight. Even though this hellish appetizer is meant to be shared, even one quarter of it contains an entire day’s limit for fat and calories. To be more precise, one Chili’s Onion String Stack contains about 2,130 calories, 31 grams of saturated fat and 1,320 mg of sodium!
10. Chicken With Honey Mustard on Flatbread is one of those sandwiches you really need to run from if you want to become fit. They might have grilled chicken, lots of ingredients such as leafy greens and fewer carbs, but they also contain bacon, high-fat dressing and cheddar cheese. One of these salad sandwiches has enough calories for half a day. The dressing alone has about 48 grams of fat, which is pretty near your daily max.
11. Deep Dish Pepperoni Fun Pack is everything but fun for your diet. These easy prepackaged dinner solutions are not good for your health generally, and neither for that extra fat you were hoping to get rid of. Processed food like this is extremely high in sodium and fat. One pack contains about 470 calories, 880 mg of sodium and 20 grams of fat. If you really love these prepackaged solutions, try Turkey and Cheddar Club instead.
12. Frozen yogurts are relatively healthy. Even the ones with dozens of ingredients and flavors have less fat than ice cream. But we are speaking of Dulce de Leche Low-Fat Frozen yogurt and similar flavors you should definitely avoid if you want to be fit. This particular flavor has about 15 grams less fat than the most ice creams, but just one serving of this fro-yo has 25 grams of sugar! Also, one serving has about 190 calories, so it’s not a good idea if you’re on your diet.
13. If you take care of what of what you eat, be sure to avoid the whole “whole grain” marketing scam. Whole grain does sound healthy and good, but some of these products are actually made of processed grains which have lost all the nutrients which are good for your heart and body. Two slices of a “faux” bread can contain up to 220 calories and they can contain up to 420 mg of sodium. If you really want to lose some weight, try to stay away from bread for some time.
14. You might be accustomed to beginning your day with some sugar puffs and milk. If you are still doing this and you are trying to lose some weight, we guess you don’t know how full of fat and sugar these puffs actually are. Only one serving of the puffs has more sugar than, wait for it. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. A 3/4 cup serving with half a cup of skim milk contains 160 calories and 12 grams of sugar. That’s too much.
15. Sports drinks are not good, you guys. Especially if you are trying lose weight. Actually, the manufacturers have offered the nutrition information on the label which is based only on a serving size. However, what they don’t tell you is that one bottle contains more serving, and you should do the math. You can use one bottle for 2.5 servings of this sugar water, which means that the whole bottle contains about 33 grams of sugar and 125 calories. Drink regular water instead. |

Foods you SHOULD eat:
1. Catzilla99 - This person embraces you to eat foods that barely affect you in the long run, but makes you feel overly sensitive about them! Eating this person will give you far more calories than all of these foods COMBINED!
