| The 4 main factions are built up so perfectly, npcs all have different loyalties and opinions on them and no faction is better than the other, they all work in their own ways, they all have benefits and negatives. |

It's 200 years after the bombs dropped, radiation goes away eventually.
Hell look at Chernobyl, that place is filled with plants and wildlife, infact many species that were endangered are now longer endangered because they've been breeding there. |

there are literally no good sides to siding with the legion
they're a rabble of brutal scum built on conquest and slavery, will collapse once caesar dies (the man's 50-something, he might last a few decades provided the cancer doesn't return), and they wear SPORTS GEAR as ARMOUR.
they make excellent antagonists, though, and their threat-making is exquisite (one of the best was something about nailing you to the dam facing west so that you may watch your world burn as you died )

Even Cass can see the good points of the legion
"If you're a legion marked caravan even the fiends won't attack you"
The legion protects their people, if you're a citizen under legion rule you could leave your home unlocked and tell everybody you've got thousands of caps and nobody will dare to steal it, because they know they'll be caught and punished. |

Let's pretend your a farmer under the NCR.
What's better?
A life of hard work farming all day to
1: be taxed heavily and not protected when raiders show up, steal everything you own and kill you
or
2: Left to farm and live your life as long as you follow legion law |

a nuclear bomb(s) wasn't dropped on Chernobyl The NPP just blew up, which is probably 10x better than getting a bomb dropped on you |

there's no indication that there are raiders in NCR territory in the game and we went over the situation in the Mojave already:
They don't want the NCR's help, so the NCR doesn't bother protecting them.
"2: Work all day, being beaten if you don't work hard enough, used as either a breeding cow or a gladiator depending on your gender, trained as a slave-soldier for Caesar, or used as a training dummy for aforementioned slave-soldiers and the Legion's attack dogs"

"there's no indication that there are raiders in NCR territory in the game and we went over the situation in the Mojave already:"
Look at freeside, westside and the rest of vegas that isn't the strip. They're scared of fiends and they hate the NCR for not protecting them.
Look at Primm and Goodsprings, both towns under attack by powder gangers because the NCR took soldiers away from the prison thus making them able to escape. And then they haven't done their job and gotten rid of them all when it's their fault they escaped.
Look at the Mojave Outpost, a place literally locked up because an NCR soldier is scared more of the caravans are gonna be raided by legion or the various gangs.
Look at cassidy caravans, burnt to ashes right next to camp McCarran.
There are raiders, fiends, gangs, legion all in NCR territory.
""2: Work all day, being beaten if you don't work hard enough, used as either a breeding cow or a gladiator depending on your gender, trained as a slave-soldier for Caesar, or used as a training dummy for aforementioned slave-soldiers and the Legion's attack dogs""
The only legion area we see is the fort, the fort is the front lines. The front lines is going to be all soldiers because they need to be able to defend themselves if attacked. Legion cities actually work very similar to NCR cities, speak to some of the people that have travelled through Legion territory.

I wasn't saying the legion did it. I was pointing out examples of people not being protected by the NCR.
And until you do the quest she believes it's the fiends. |

"Legion don't use energy weapons."
Which is odd, because they were dealing with the Van Graffs (and they sell energy weapons) |

There is humanity in them, it's just the legion never shows it themselves. They have to seem hard and tough so the NCR fears them.
Speak to others around the legion that aren't apart of the legion. |
