| The wiki is the best resource so if that's too hard, you should just give up now |

People are not very helpful, at least in my opinion. What I would do if I was you, is avoid learning entirely off the Wiki, it's hard to keep focused on so much information. How I learned to code (in something called UnityScript) is by working on small things first and working my way up.
First try getting a line of code to work.. like make a brick go invisible because of your script, then move on to making it go invisible when someone walks on it, and so on.
Work your way up and have fun, if you get too bored you'll give up.
Hope this helped! If you have any questions about scripting feel free to ask! I can remember learning - it's not easy |

@Break, so basically.. Your answer to: "What is a good way to start learning LUA?" is: "Learn another language".. gg
The wiki is perfectly fine. YouTube: PeasFactory or Friaza Wiki: http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=AllTutorials#Scripting |

No, I was not trying to imply that. I said I started with something called unityscript, I never wanted him to use it. I was simply explaining that a good approach to take to it is to start small and get bigger and bigger
Sorry for the confusion |

He just said that he started from another language, but his experience applies to RBX.Lua.
The way I learned was by figuring out how to do the basics, and how to utilize the wiki. Once I learned how to do that I could start playing around with just about anything. Eventually I worked my way up to harder tasks where I learned more and more techniques. Don't spam this forum with inane questions (eg is X suppose to have an uppercase or lowercase) but definitely use it whenever you're stuck on something. The help you can get here is a lot better than it once was. |
