I've heard rumors that exploiters have figured out ways to get around it but I haven't actually seen anyone do it. Does anyone else know anything on the topic? |

| What do you mean by "get around it"? I image it's very easy to get past someone's FE system that trusts 100% of data client sends |

| Right should have specified that, by around it I meant that they can force replication from their client to the server which is what it shouldn't allow. |

no that is not possible it is possible to write unsafe code while using FE
you shouldn't trust client data and only send your changes from the client to the server (like player5 picked up an item) and you shouldn't send: this is the inventory of player5, have fun server because then your game is still easy to exploit |

| Where is your "source" for this being possible? How would it even be possible? The server literally denies changes from the client, how could they get around that? Just leave, kid. |

"The server literally denies changes from the client"
Yes that's how it appears to and should work, who says it does though?

They are called "rumours" for a reason.. http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=Security#FilteringEnabled http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=API:Class/Workspace/FilteringEnabled http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=FilteringEnabled_with_the_Client-Server_Model |

@epicbreaker
Right do you want me to link you to a wikipedia article on how to type on your keyboard because that would have about the same level of relevance as you posting those links compared to the thread topic
This is a discussion on whether or not it is possible to get around it not debating it's functionality |

But thats the thing, this thread is pointless.
Normal scripts don't work in a local environment, and the only possible modifications are done client side using a LocalScript. If your place is scripted extremely poorly, it's your own fault for allowing this sort of thing to happen. You should always verify the data on the server. |

@Ben since it looks like you have no idea what you are talking about, epic gave some information if he didn't do it, I probably would have done the same
since you don't give any example of why it doesn't work and ask us to provide explanation I think you should start with giving a working example since you started the topic |

I'm not sure if you're trolling or just stupid. Roblox would have to have insane brain damage to just stop changes on the client, and there is even a way you can test this.
1. Turn on PrintFilters in Studio settings. 2. Start a test server and player. 3. In the SERVER window create a new instance inside the player's PlayerGui. 4. In the CLIENT window delete that instance.
You'll notice that the client doesn't print that the change isn't replicated. However, if you look at the server window, you'll notice that it prints that it did stop the change.
Now get out. |

| I'd like to see someone 'bypass' FilteringEnabled, I highly doubt that they could do it. |

| Only datamodel changes are stopped by the filter. Physics aren't stopped, although you will be able to control this with the release of the new NetworkAPI. |

@Fedorakid
You are the type to join in on others talking crap without ever actually contributing ANYTHING WHATSOEVER. I mean in my opinion that's pretty ridiculous but I guess you have found a way to live with it. |

No I faintly remember your name from a previous thread of mine where you did exactly the same, then I checked your post history which confirmed my suspicions.
"also I hope you begin to realize most of us think this thread is dumb."
"us"
So you speak for the entire section now? Wow exclusive Scripters club member, should probably put that on your resume. |
