In fallout nv you hardly see the desruction up intill the lone road dlc.
In fallout 3 you read the utter destruction and see the destruction buildings falling apart, cars falttened, and skeletons everywhere. |

Yeah no.
Roblox wouldn't let me post my response, so here's the link:

because of the fact that DC happens to be overrun with feral ghouls and super mutants

Yeah, but every settlement apart from Rivet City is far outside of DC.
Megaton isn't affected by mutants, neither is paradise falls and the republic of dave. Little Lamplight can hold their own against super mutants too somehow.
Infact rivet city is perfectly defensible against mutants because they can just retract the bridge.
The only settlement that super mutants actually affect is big town. |

@Logan I haven't played fallout 3 but, the same thing happens in COD MW3 on a minute to minute basis, but that game wasn't emotional by any stretch of the imagination. |

@Hellbound
DC was apprantly much worse hit by the attack.
The west coast was somewhat protected by the US military/Mr Houses defenses. |

House only protected the strip.
And DC was hit pretty bad sure but megaton was built when Maya was a child I think, that's a good 80 years where nothing has happened civilization wise. None of it makes sense, where are their farms? Where are their trade routes? |

He protected Nevada, in general, and probably some of California/Arizonia, to reduce near-misses.
As for the DC thing, they couldn't farm. They didn't have the clean water to. Hence, project purity. As for trade routes, there are caravans, through less of em' in gameplay compared to FNV. |

| I don't understand project purity. Just activating the geck creates clean water too. |

| It was to purify the tidal basin, and kill the mutants that relied on the irradiated water. I mean, it was basically just using the GECK, in all but name. |

"Where are their farms? Where are their trade routes?"
"Rivet City is the sole supplier of radiation-free food in the Capital Wasteland, trading it for essential raw materials with other communities."
See, Rivet City's science labs are set up in the functioning hydroponics bay of the ship. There's their farms.
Trade routes? How about the caravan paths?

Lord, have you been into the lab? It's tiny, they aren't growing enough food to sustain rivet city let alone the entire wasteland.

Given the amount of preserved food you can find everywhere, and the fact that most food that isn't preserved is things like brahmin meat and such, I assume that, you know, they eat mainly that and supplement it with preserved foods and what Rivet provides.
