Just a pair of somewhat original(hopefully?) ideas for a rp.
#1 My take on a zombie apocalypse.
In the year 2050 or some crap like that, a global terrorist organization deliberately infects most of the worlds population with a zombie virus. The governments of the world promptly mount a defense against this unexpected onslaught of undead. However, this virus gave its victims superhuman endurance, agility, and strength as well as being globally aware(if one zombie spots you, all of them become aware of your location). In the end it was not the brave ones who saved the human race. It was the cowards and pessimists that became the last embers in the dying ashes of humanity. For they built great sky cities, known as 'beacons' to outlast their enemy. For although they were undying, the virus could only slow the decay of its victims not halt it, scientists dubbed this the 'Rate of Decay', or ROD.
A hundred years later, the ROD is far below estimates. Zombies still cover the Earth in a carpet of slowly rotting flesh. The Beacons, once numbering thousands, have been reduced to a few hundred. For although they were designed to remain in the air nearly indefinitely they still had to land occasionally, and no matter where they landed, after a few hours the Virus would direct massive hordes of undead towards the grounded Beacon turning it into a desperate battle for survival. In this manner many Beacon cities have been lost. The surviving ones have begun to turn on each other. For it's far safer to raid their fellows rather than risk the undying hordes that are beneath.
(I could actually see this working in a steampunk or fantasy setting as well.)
#2 Sci-fi/Modern and Fantasy or a God RP.
At the dawn of the twenty second century(or whenever), great portals were opened across the world, through them, Elder Gods led their servant races(Elves, Orcs, Dwarves, generic fantasy races) in a great crusade to retake their ancestral home of Earth. Unfortunately, the humans they once knew as crude barbarians had progressed quite a bit in the intervening centuries and were far more advanced and more numerous than their servant races.Despite their magic, the gods and their allies were defeated and contained, their servant races subjected to second class citizenship. It has been this way for a long time now, but recently, a mysterious force has been freeing the Gods from their long imprisonment to free their servants from the oppression that the humans have brought down on them and reclaim their power.
Any interest?

Well, the first one is far overdone. The government thing is so-so original, but the whole 'zombie infection apocalypse' idea is pretty much 20% of RPs.
I like the second one more, but once again, this 'enslaving a different species' thing is also overdone. The rest sounds good, however.

Agree with Senpai on the first and second.
Maybe we could be the Gods on the second idea? |

to be honest, the gamers would win.
People who don't play video games would try to survive, whereas the gamers would actively hunt and kill zombies.
We gamers could take a combine, attach a whole array of bade on it, and charge through entire cities.
We gamers wouldn't dare step foot on the streets.
We would go into skyscrapers, tall buildings and the like, destroy the first two layers except for the supports, and just live up there. When resources get exhausted, create a zipline to the next skyscraper. rinse, repeat.
Or we could take one of those tractors that ride up high, you know where you can drive a car under it, and attach blade to the wheels on the inside and outside of the wheels, and got 30 down a busy street and watch heads fly.
I prefer #2 tho - but only if you got to play as the god. |

| I'm not a fan of the whole zombie apocalypse genre myself, but number two is interesting. |

| I honestly like #1, but only if it were to be done right. With enough hard work(more than just an hour or two of collaborating) it could be great. |

@sk8r, I'm sure it COULD be great, but the problem is the genre's been seen so much already that most decent RPers would just go 'nope' and not even try it. Meaning it will die straight away.

(I really don't have the energy to collab and make something of these ideas, so feel free to take them and use as they will. For #1 I can say that the zombies could entirely exist simply as a reason for there being sky cities floating around and battling each other.)

I know this can be found to be rather 'silly'. But I've honestly never found a legitimate and professional Emergency services RP within the role-playing community. I mean it's never really been used before I don't believe. Like take for example I know this will sound sort of bland concept however it's the content within the RP that truly matters, Law enforcement officer RP or something along the extents of metropolis work, just an opinion. Or better yet expand upon the 'Military' genre except it seems to contain a vast amount of bad rp'ers yet an Aerial Warfare role-play might contain a lot of new opportunities.
But I do honestly believe that the City genre can be expanded upon in a unique way. |

@Carnage I believe it's a matter of what people want to roleplay in that case, to them that would be 'boring'. My opinion on it is that it would be fun if it was well managed in an ISRP format.
If there is that much interest in number two, someone make a collab.
