To an extent. Pistols should be the only allowed firearm to legally own. Even then, I believe the gun owner should have to take a course in how to properly aim, fire, and clean the gun. |

In all honesty, I have no problems with firearms. I just feel there should be a better way to regulate guns, and that there should be measures in place to inspect gun owners. Many of these shootings taking place, the shooters get the weapon from their family, not a store. If someone is going to buy a gun the whole immediate family should have a physiological test done.
Honest history is the weapon of freedom. |

If it was bait, he would have made an outrageous claim, or be really aggressive. I see neither, nor am I influenced in any negative way. |

@ruth
"except pistols"
Thos things are in the hands of criminals EVERYWHERE. Crime will hardly change. Assuming it does because of a ban.
I'm saying that your proposal is insignificant. |

@Mad. I understand that bad guys will STILL get guns. But my reasoning with owning the pistols only is that the legitimate gun owners should take a firearms course, to learn to protect theirselves against said baddies. |

You do realize that the people have to keep the government in check too right? And guns help do this.

| All guns should be banned, expect for muskets! It'll be real hard to do a massacre with a musket. |

You realise that the government owns the military, right? You're bringing guns to a drone fight, sucker. |

In my opinion, we should give everyone over 18 a gun. No one would shoot anyone in fear of getting shot. Look at the "wild west." Everyone had a gun, and statistically murder and crime rates were much, much lower.

'second amendment'
You can change an amendment. That's what "amendment" means. |

If guns were banned, then we have no real way of protecting ourselves; baddies are killing people, they are going to break the law to get guns. A pistol won't do anything in a gang attack. If there was a sniper, a pistol won't do anything. Plus, HOW WILL WE HUNT WITHOUT A RIFLE? You can't take down big game with a 9mm!
However, I strongly agree with the last line. More training equals more safety.

@blob Muskets are banned in more places than plain rifles, for some strange reason.

"musket"
Are you saying that's somehow better when we have more accurate rifled barrels that fire cartridges? |

Might be safety reasons with muskets? No idea. Do muskets have a safety switch of sort? |
