MF DOOM is real rap. Earl Sweatshirt is real rap. Mac Miller is probably real rap. Big Sean is half of real rap. Lil wayne isn't even close to fake rap or real rap. Drake is real rap. Tyler, the Creator is real rap. Chief Keef isn't even music. Joey Bad@s$ is real rap. Kendrick Lamar is music. A$AP Rocky is real rap. |

| You really need a taste of more rappers if you say Shmurda is one of the best. He's alright but he's not special. He's the typical near mainstream rapper. |

Vince Staples is like a 6/10. Action Bronson is someone who you would listen to 5 times a month. I think Lil B trolls mainstream... |

Its "real rap" because it can get you moving, or its mainstream.
Songs like this are what get people hype, they don't even have to be good, they just get people hype. I didn't really feel this, but thats why I think they call it "Real Rap".
Here's an example (This happens to be my favorite artist btw):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFYxvslrLHI
This isn't good lyrically, but will get you hype. I wanted to rob my own house while listening to this song, but thats just how I took it.
There are good songs lyrically, but its also how the impact gets to you, and if its make you up and running. |

@DX I know, once in a while i'll shoot my bb gun at my shed in the backyard to something like that.
But I'm talking about serious rap, not ...mood rap? |

| Trez is serious about rap but I don't understand why he dry-humps bowls in the kitchen to Lil B. |

Well, its just how it gets to the audience. For example, Bobby Shmurda isn't a great rapper, but his audience makes him look good.
I mean, more people know mainstream artists than guys like Freddie Gibbs, MF Doom, and others in that category.
And, theres not really anything called "serious rap", since in general rap doesn't make sense anyways. Rap is just rap, maybe different topics make a "serious rap", but eh. |

| @DX Yeah, that's what I meant. But guys like A$AP Ferg takes it serious with a little of a "Turn up" type of music, even though he's not a good rapper. |
