Hey, all! You probably don't know me unless you were in the original Cartoon Roleplay, as I haven't been around here since it ended. Since then I have advanced a bit in my own section of ROBLOX, ROBLOXiwood. We're basically a community of filmmakers that write, direct, produce, run companies, act, etc. just like those in the real Hollywood.
The StoneCreek roleplay by RStitch is getting a film adaptation by my good friend coollegodude1. When this was announced, I hatched an idea for what I guess could be called something of a free class on writing for television. With your help, I aim to create a new, fully-produced series on my YouTube channel. Since StoneCreek has the potential for a film, I want to see your true talents in an episodic manner. So, here's what will happen for each round of this thread:
1. Someone will pitch an idea for a television series. After five ideas have been posted, I will choose the best and most practical out of all of them. Don't give up hope, though, as your idea might still have a chance of getting made if I feel it's worthy!
For example, these five ideas might be pitched:
- Alternate timeline where Soviets took over America - Zombie invasion - Alien planet exploration goes horribly wrong - Fairy tales intertwined - Competing fast food restaurants
I would then reply to each of them:
- "Good idea." - "Already working on this." - "I like it, though it's more of a film without expansion." - "This again? Weren't 'Into the Woods' and 'Once Upon A Time' enough?!" - "Maybe..."
I would then choose one idea. In this case, let's say we did the fast food restaurants.
2. The community will create characters for the first episode. I will release a full list of characters for the first episode after a certain point. With this, we act as we would in any other roleplay, using our characters to interact with one another. These events, unless I say otherwise, will all be accounted for in the final draft of the script.
For example:
Brisingric fills out a character form. The character, the manager of a McDonald's, happens to be accepted by me to be in the story of the show. Other characters like this manager are accepted as well. I then make a list of the characters that have been accepted thus far, in alphabetical order. Their importance in the story will be decided by how much they do. So, if you want to have a big part, contribute a lot! The list looks like this:
Bob Anyguyson, Manager of McDonald's Steve Carell...ion, Manager of Burger King Pharrel William Ferell, Manager of Wendy's
And so on...
(Sidenote: Characters can still be made at this point. They'll be accepted right before the next episode begins.)
Brisingric is then free to roleplay as he pleases. At this point, he can only do things that relate directly to the story. When the plot reaches a certain point, I will post "CUT! THAT'S A WRAP!" and end the episode. The process repeats as more and more people join in, until we have a sustainable show.
3. When I feel it's ready, the show will end and new series ideas can be posted. While the thread continues as it did the first time, my company will make the series (If you want to be a character of yours, PM me at the end of the series.) and publish it on YouTube. Please note, however, that all episodes will be made per season before I fully release it and some parts may be edited for time and/or the betterment of the story. I will advise critics to judge the writing more than editing. With this, we can have a straightforward view of the writing skills of the forum. I will post the reviews on here and explain what you guys need to work on in your writing, based on what those reviewers have said. This should, in the end, be beneficial for your skills in roleplaying and make the forum a better and more skilled place (It is skilled already, I'm just attempting to improve it.).
4. Repeat.
The rules are the usual things for every thread. Just control your own characters and we should be fine. Don't be afraid to go too far with your content. Remember: In television, less humor is more drama and vice versa. If we go with drama, don't be afraid to go too dark. If humor is the way of the show, don't shy on your jokes.
So, please pitch ideas to me about what we should do! Have a great day!
TL;DR: Read it. You're gonna mess this up if you don't. |

| Apologies, but I must note that if a sixth idea is submitted, it will replace the one we have now. Remaking a series is not what I aimed to do. |

Series Name: Dark Truth Plot: Basically a tv series which can be dramatic but comedic at the same time. Target Audience (Age of People Who Would Watch It): Probably over 12+ and up. Estimated Number of Episodes: Not sure... Dramatic Series or Comedic Series?: Both.

I need a little more detail in ideas, guys. We can work with number two, but you need to tell me about the world, maybe an event that causes the main conflict. Good work so far, though! |

@roquinha9
It's so close and yet so, so far.
I'm bending the rules a bit. (Hopefully if this continues for Round Two, people will read everything.) But anyway, when we get a fifth submission, I'm having you guys cast one vote each for the project we'll be working on. The winner gets made. That way I won't be the one making a total decision here and no feelings will be hurt. |

^ I like it.
OFFICIAL RULE CHANGE #1:
Instead of me choosing which series to do, I will have those present in the thread vote. Majority wins. However, if you have submitted one of the ideas that are currently being voted on, you cannot vote for what you have submitted. |
