literally practice
if you draw the same things for days and weeks and months and take up different poses and ways of holding and controlling the pencil youre solid |

Any face I try to draw ends up deformed, I hate every style of eye I end up drawing, etc..
how did good artists improve from this anyways

"if you draw the same things for days and weeks and months and take up different poses and ways of holding and controlling the pencil youre solid"
But if I'm drawing in a bad way, won't I be practicing a bad method?

what I do is I start by just copying an image (another drawing is easier than an actual photo) and then trying to do it without the image
then try to change a few details, and the angle it's at, and you've learned how to draw whatever the image was.

"But if I'm drawing in a bad way, won't I be practicing a bad method?"
not if you purposefully try to not improve
one day youll be drawing someone with a triangle nose and over time youll start defining that nose more and more
your artwork will evolve |

I guess "you need to practice" isn't really reassuring or motivation for me
ah well, guess I'll never be an artist

"ah well, guess I'll never be an artist"
not if you think that way
start off by doing stupid doodles everywhere
i draw all over the place and its just little chibi guys that i put 0 effort in and yet i can still produce quality work of some caliber |

take a picture of something on your phone, and then look at it and draw exactly what you see
that's literally all drawing is- training yourself to draw what you see |

I guess I'm sorta a perfectionist. I'm not happy unless I do it well.
So every time our pencil hits the paper... I hate everything that comes out. We keep trying to jump from nothing to a semi-realistic style and of COURSE that's not working. In the end, we draw half the face and then end up throwing it in the trash because it looks horrid.
