why does the human brain work? i'm not asking HOW it works, but WHY. I know there are neurons, they connect and do data stuff... But what makes them do that in the first place? Why are they doing this and not something else?

"because the brain is made out of nerve tissue and doing nerve stuff is the only stuff nerve tissue knows how to do"
What makes that matter brain tissue? Only because it does these tasks? What makes it do these tasks in the first place?

"Brain Stem, Brain, Self Explanatory"
The brain does not power itself because it is only matter. There needs to be any kind of energy supplied to it for it to do tasks, and it needs to be programmed somehow to perform these tasks. How you'd program matter and why it obeys is unknown to me.

"we need to be productive DUH" Just because it'd be productive doesn't make it happen. It'd be productive if tulpas existed because they could help us process information, but that doesn't happen. Another example is how my dog is physically capable of typing this message with his nose for me but still doesn't do it and won't no matter how hard I try.
I wanna know why the brain works, not what excuse it has to work. Why does matter act like this and what physically programs it.

First of all; read a book or Google it, OP. Second of all; we have a very minuscule understanding of our brain's processes. We cannot truly conclude how it works unless proper research is done. |

But the human brain is unique. Although it's not the largest, it gives us the power to speak, imagine and problem solve. It is truly an amazing organ. The brain performs an incredible number of tasks including the following: It controls body temperature, blood pressure, heart rate and breathing. It accepts a flood of information about the world around you from your various senses (seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and touching). It handles your physical movement when walking, talking, standing or sitting. It lets you think, dream, reason and experience emotions. All of these tasks are coordinated, controlled and regulated by an organ that is about the size of a small head of cauliflower. Your brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves make up a complex, integrated information-processing and control system known as your central nervous system. In tandem, they regulate all the conscious and unconscious facets of your life. The scientific study of the brain and nervous system is called neuroscience or neurobiology. Because the field of neuroscience is so vast -- and the brain and nervous system are so complex -- this article will start with the basics and give you an overview of this complicated organ. We'll examine the structures of the brain and how each section controls our daily functions, including motor control, visual processing, auditory processing, sensation, learning, memory and emotions.

"read a book or google it" I asked this as a result of four hours of intense googling on the topic of computers, electricity, magnetism, neuroscience, and many comparisons between computers and the brain.
Saying we don't know enough about the brain and will never know until proper research is done is only an excuse to keep this question away, because you know you're not gonna do proper research and experiments.
You people read. You read, a lot, about all kinds of stuff, and listen and hear what other people say. When you don't know something you ask someone about it, that's how us social beings work. Each person has a different level of understanding and perspective of this topic, and I wanted to see how other people will approach this question from their current state of mind. It's natural, just like curiosity, and even if you tell me that's useless, I'll do my best to get some answers that at least partially satisfy my curiosity from people.

@Key
That's basic spam, I am not pleased. I told you I wanted to know why the brain works, and not HOW it works, but that's exactly what you told me here, how it works. Listen, I've read that already. All of it. It's all the same, I know how it works already. I wanna know what moves it to do that. It's just matter.

I'm no scientist or doctor but think of it like this. Why do we need a CPU in our electronic devices? They process 'everything'. Your brain does this too. Say you got stung by a bee, your nervous system will get that data to your brain and the brain processes the data and then sends back data telling each and every part of your body what to do.
Another example, my brain saw your post, it processed all the data from my eyes to my brain and then, it sent back information such as type the following thing in. Move your hands slightly up or down. Press the space key an so on...
Your brain does not only controls you but also stores data there. As I said up there, it tells me to write the following. My brain knows what each and every key on my keyboard does off by memory. All this memory is stored in my brain.
If you have any more questions please PM me and I will try my hardest to answer them.
Thank you. - MaximumHype |

As I said earlier, it's just an excuse. Reasons don't move matter, physical stuff do. Just as wind and electricity move stuff.

Let me try to answer this to you. As you may know RT, I am jjj344 and I may not know allot but I believe the brain works because God wanted us to learn things. Without brains, how could we live? The brain provides fuctions all throughout the body and is like the Command Central for the Human. Why the brain does this is because like how gas powers a car, your heart pumps blood. You see, it goes up to your brain therefore providing it fuel (blood) to power the brain. The reason why the brain works is simply because of blood powering the brain and how God made it.
If you got anymore questions, please ask me. I am just trying to explain why it's doing that so if you want to know more, ask me and I will try to give you the answer.

@jjj3444,
Assuming God wanted our brains to work, what physical thing did he create to make the mere matter of our brains perform survival tasks? Blood does power a brain, but it does not make it perform any tasks. A brain with blood doesn't necessarily do anything. It could be dead even if the heart was artificially pumping blood into the brain.

| why are we here? for what purpose do we exist? we must not dwell on these questions. we can merely trust in the will of the universe and spend our days and nights in harmony with the world, celebrating this festival called life |

"BECAUSE GOD WANTED US TO BE SMART"
In the nature and law of physics which God created along with this universe as you say, what did he create in order to make our brain-shaped matter perform survival tasks? Tell me what powers the brain to perform tasks. And it's not simply blood, a brain can be not working even if you artificially pumped blood into it.
