I had an idea for a game but I'm not sure if anybody would end up playing it so I could use some opinions.
Basically the idea is that when the game begins you get 5 minutes with roblox's standard btools and then you and your teammates build a base on your side of the map, and the other team does the same.
There would be a big wall between the teams while they build so they don't just grief each other of course.
After the 5 minutes is up, the btools disappear, the wall lowers and the players get guns and swords and the objective is to kill the other team, and you'd only have 1 life.
I played something similar to this once and it's always fun so I'm thinking of just making my own and I'm not gonna pull a crappy-frontpage-game and fill it with BUY FOR 3000 HP and all that stuff.
Sound fun? |

| Hmm maybe I can do that too, maybe the players would get different weapons or maybe random bricks get destroyed mid game. |

| Yeah I think I could do a money system, and I won't fill it with microtransactions because I hate games that have a lot of them. Maybe I can do cosmetic gamepasses? |

| Uhh The walls/walls2 from minecraft? Heck yeah, I want this to be on front page, I would honestly play like every day if it had a shop with upgrades and stuff. |

| Alright sounds cool, guess I'll start it. You think it's worth getting a full dev team or should I just do it myself? Alone would be cheaper for me but a bit slower. |

Oooo this game i remember playing something like it on roblox like a loooong time ago...
I think it was a minigame in person299's minigames? Back in 2009??
Anyways i think its a really cool idea, except for the fact that you should somehow get people on a team to cooperate with each other, because other teamwork games ive seen on roblox are basically disasters.
Also, you should find a way to fix the glitch when u attach a 2x4 brick to your leg and it makes you fly. I remember doing that and basically never lose the round because they couldnt kill me unless they also had a flyer. |

Yeah I'm gonna add a translucent roof to the map so you can't fling super far. Also I'm thinking of maybe adding some kind of rep button so that you can "vote up" other players that helped a lot and then they get like a percentage increase in how much cash they make. Sound good? |

That could be interesting. You should limit the number of bricks a team can place, however, and all placed blocks should be destructable.

Yeah, every placed block will be destructable and I'll make sure to put a regen on the blocks you need to build.
I think the only issue I could have is all the data persistence and user data because I'm not experienced in that. |

Sounds fun my ideas to add would be: -Shop/ economy for better guns and swords -A way to track wins would be nice either by a leader board or player point system(really not too hard to do lolz). -Bonus rounds
The only thing I wouldn't like as much would be the 1 life. Maybe give the players the ability to spawn back in their base (whether you make this a pre-set location or let players place a re-spawn block). the game "whatever floats your boat" allows you to re-spawn. Then again you could make the 1 life a game mode or make game modes where there is more than 1 life.
Just a few ideas, overall sounds fun. :) |

@ john No, they can't because I'm putting a ceiling and the arena is closed.
@ golfer Hmm, I see where you're coming from. I think I'll do multiple lives I guess. Anyone else have opinions on having 1 life? |

Here's a link to the game so far, core gameplay is all there and works properly but no data persistence, cash shop, upgrades yet. Will add once I learn how to do those.

| I remember a game like this, but the wall was an invisible barrier and there were four teams. However, that game died out pretty quickly, so seeing another one rise up would be fantastic. I'd say the game sounds interesting. |

| I recommend looking into "data store" for saving, that is what roblox supports now instead of data persistence. You basically save a table of values then you can load that table of values |

| Thanks golfer. Also, I just added a bunch of music and sounds to the game. I'll add more when I get the time but I'm gonna squash a bug and go to sleep. Progress is going well. |
