I haven't been lua scripting for like 2 weeks and I just don't have the motivation to do so? Sorry if I sound very confusing. I have also noticed something about my self though, my scripting knowledge somehow increased by playing more roblox games and not practicing?
Is this some kind of stage every scripter goes through or am I just going crazy?

Yiss I've been in this stage, it is called 'Stop Developing, and instead be a lazy pleb who is helping kids on the sub forum'

With this method, I learn whilst getting encouraged to do things by seeing unique ways I can make my game that weren't introduced before hand.

I have to reconstruct the Valkyrie wrapper because I broke it.

Yes, I have felt this. It is painful. I prefer to procrastinate and make elegant datastructures

This happens for almost EVERYTHING that includes skills. Scripting, Building, Programming, Developing, e.t.c

Heres what most people do: 1. Learn a skill (Lets use scripting as an example) and then thats where it starts for some people. They get that early motivation, that spark to want to learn scripting so they go at it with an iron fist, what I did when I started to learn was, I spent lots of restless hours and nights learning it, watching youtube videos, going over the wiki, testing out scrips, messing around, learning script builder, messing around in script builder, learning with friends, bla bla bla. Then I had scripting down, but after the learning process.... I just stopped.... forgot all about my goals.... then for about a month, I didn't do any scripting peroid. "my scripting knowledge somehow increased by playing more roblox games and not practicing?" - Raidorz

Same thing happened with me, heres how it kind-of worked. So, you're pretty familiar with scripting and everything, you've been scripting for a long time now, and you know how scripting works and how it's used in games and other things. So for those two weeks, with knowing scripting and everything, while you're playing games another part of your mind is just constantly dwelling on how the game was made with scripting and other things along those lines, so yes- your scripting knowledge does increase. But still, you don't have that motivation to keep learning scripting. You'd think that break from scripting would motivate you to keep moving forward, to keep scripting. But in reality, it doesnt.

Some days you wake up and right when you are going to begin scripting after a break, you feel a presence within you that stops you from doing so. You sit down, but you sit down quietly this time. Suddenly, that feeling where you once were so passionate and energized to take action just isn’t there anymore. You try to hype yourself up but it’s not working, and everything you do seems to be counterintuitive. You face the truth. You don’t want to script today and you don’t feel motivated to do anything but just escape. Without this motivation, you feel a little hopeless, lost, and stuck. But heres how you can revive that motivation, but before I start on that. Don't work too hard on scripting, if theres a script you're anxious to complete, don't spend 3 hours straight on it. When you spend those 3 hours on a script, you start to loose intrest and your motivation after 1 hour of doing so just fades away slowly. You need to reward yourself and take a SMALL break. For example, work on scripting for one hour, take a break, go do something you enjoy, reward yourself for doing that 1 hour of scripting. Hell, go exercise if you sit inside all day scripting. But anyways, now that you've had that small 30 minute to 1 hour break. You have that motivation back again, because it didn't fade away. It instead, recharged. So that second hour of scripting will be just like the first, then go on from there. Thats the biggest cause of loosing intrest. Anyways, I don't want to keep rambling on because I have other things to do and this post is already WAY too long for your topic, but just thought you should know. Also, if this didn't do anything for you. Look it up online :/

Don't overdo scripting in one day. Do little chunks each day. Works 100% of the time 50% of the time.

yeah, still have it, at first I thought "Forest Man will be a good Game" but then when I didn't know what to do and I was waiting for votes for my Truck Spawning System [TSS] I just lost interest... then I decided to Script 2 AK's that 2 guys made for me, at the start I just wanted to make it a good gun, but then I was so obsessed, I wanted to make it one of the BEST guns on Roblox, and well now am not that motivated or anything... I think I'm slowly fixing the Bullet Drop problem, but anyway, I hope I can get motivated, I guess just don't over try, cos I kept torturing myself with the Motor6D movement and stuff, it bugged me like mad! -_- and well I think that's what makes u go off of something :/
