i have to say it held up for quite a while, i had the same strings on it for over 10 years think i might just get a brand new bass though, since mine has too many problems for me to fix anyway anybody suggest a good bass guitar brand? |

| How...why did you never change the strings on it? I mean, maybe basses are different, but I know for a fact I have to change the strings on my guitar every three to six months (usually six because the thought of changing the strings on it fills me with utter dread, but that's another matter altogether). |

I sugggested the jazz bass because I know it can sound good with every genre/it sounds like ric 4003 also, you might have just been playing some of the lower end fender models. |

If you've had the same strings for 10 years then you needed to change them anyways and its breaking was just a sign
Before you buy a new bass, get new strings and see if your tone improves to a point where new instrument is not required |
