Introduction: The BMT is the first step of any individual who wants to build a career in United States Military. The BMTP (Basic Military Training Protocol) contains the rules, regulations and procedures that define the BMT process.
-Beginning: Before the BMT starts, there must be a minimum amount of 2 trainees (E1-E3) present at the chosen Air Force Base. (Most likely Lackland Air Force Base) But it’s recommended that you have 4 or 5 to start the BMT. If you decide to wait for more people to come before starting, it’s convenient that you do faces drills or something like it to keep the present trainees busy until the real BMT starts.
- To host a BMT the instructor must be Junior MTI or higher in the AETC (Air Education Training Command) group. - All trainees that wish to participate in the BMT must be wearing AF ABUs. - The chosen place must be an official commissioned USAF base. - If you start the BMT with the minimal number of people, and they start to leave, you don’t need to stop the training, you can continue with it even with 1 person left, if necessary.
-Physical training: The physical training is basically done by running through course sections with the trainees. It’s recommended that 3 obbies are completed before proceeding to the next part of the training.
- It’s important to pay attention to not allow people who fail to continue, they must start the failed obstacle again. (Not the whole Obby) - Cheaters must be punished, JJs are a suggested punishment. - If someone gets to the BMT late, during the physical training, the instructor can choose to allow the late trainee into the training, but they must do at least one obby section to be included and to continue with the others. Late trainees that arrive after the physical section, cannot be allowed into the BMT. (Which is during the USAF Military Theory Class)
- Military theory class: The Military theory class must teach the Air Force pay grades with their ranks: E1 - Basic Airman E2 - Airman E3 - Airman First class E4 - Senior Airman E5 - Staff Sergeant E6 - Technical Sergeant E7 - Master Sergeant E8 - Senior Master Sergeant E9A - Chief Master Sergeant E9B - Command Chief Master Sergeant E9C - Chief Master Sergeant Of The Air force O1 - Second Lieutenant O2 - First Lieutenant O3 - Captain O4 - Major O5 - Lieutenant Colonel O6 - Colonel O7 - Brigadier General O8 - Major General O9 - Lieutenant General O10 - General
The class must also teach the AF MAJCOMs and their functions: ACC Air Combat Command AETC Air Education and Training Command AMC Air Mobility Command GSC Global Strike Command AFSOC Air Force Special Operations Command
*Repetition is a powerful technique that must be applied during the class *A Quiz must be made to each trainee to guarantee that they learned something
-Promotions ceremony When the training is over, the instructor in charge must make sure all trainees are in proper Class A's for their ranks. They must be wearing the correct formal assigned to their current rank. They must also wear the appropriate Class A Cap ranks. Then the instructor must take the trainees to the parade square (All bases have one). The instructor and other MTI’s then get up on the pulpit and one by one call the trainees front and center. The head instructor should then proceed to do a little debriefing on their performance and state the rank promotion (if it happens). After that stage has been completed. The head instructor should then instruct all the members at the base to turn and salute the Air Force Flag. An admin at the game should then play “the Wild Blue Yonder”. After this has been completed. The admin at the game should play the ‘national anthem’. All members at the base should present their arms during the anthem. All members should be facing the United States Flag while saluting. (There should be no talking or moving) The Airman creed should follow after the anthem. The head instructor should ask all the members currently at the base to repeat the Airman Creed after them. Finally, before the trainees are dismissed. The head instructor or assistants should go over to each trainee and ask them what MAJCOM they would like to join. The trainees must not be persuaded or pressured to make their decision by any members!
