It'd be nice to at least be able open ROBLOX studio without access to the internet. Obviously certain parts do rely on access (e.g. any models, decals and our avatar). What it should be is that any of the basic functions can be saved to your computer and work without internet connection (bricks, vehicals, terrain, etc) and your avatar, if on test mode, is just the default one.
Is this plausible or not? |

Above me = ROBLOX's new CEO
Support. This is plausible, and an actually very good idea.

I've tried before and it only gives me errors. Is it Studio 2013 you're using?
And I'm fairly certain I would not make a good CEO. David's doing his job fine in any case. |

ROBLOX Studio functions extremely well in offline mode; pre-existing free-models are saved to the file, and it is a simple matter to copy-paste. But, to cache all these functions to one file might prove to be a little too extreme, unless you are suggesting integration of said data to the ROBLOX Studio file root/directory. That may be do-able, provided ROBLOX Staff were to co-operate, creating a function to cache or sync data to the file directory at a time where the user is online.
A con to this method would be that, in times of internet connectivity, the caching process may cost an additional few minutes or seconds, depending on the computer specs, for RE's startup, if the function executes on startup. If the function executes during use of the program, the frame-rate and performance would most likely drop, again, depending on the computer.
All in all, a reasonable suggestion.
Support.

| Bino, ROBLOX does function in offline mode. The case is probably you have a parental program or a key logger of some sort preventing you from accessing the internet. If this is the case, COMPLETELY SWITCH OFF YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION and try again. |

| Well, I definitely don't have anything parental going on, and I've scanned my computer recently so I don't think it's a keylogger. It just fails to open, each time providing the same error code. I could try again and write the code here if you wish. It works perfectly fine with internet access. |

Oh, that's strange, the error has changed. Now it's just the (assuming) default warning.
Nonetheless, none of the functions work. There are no bricks in the toolbox, using the terrain does nothing. My suggestion still stands; allow the basic functions to work offline. |

Bino, when internet goes off while you're in RStudio you can still work but you will have lag. Yes, LAG. I don't know how. And when you're not on RStudio and your internet is off. You can't open it. I really support this because there are many developers whose internet is Off like VetexGames that can't develop their projects because they don't have internet.

We have a twenty-minute commute to homeschool each day, (don't ask) so what I do is press "Edit", open up my plugins so the images and such can load, then I build and script the whole way without lag.
However, I still get errors, can't test it, can't start it up properly offline, can't use intellisense (one of the biggest), ect.
This is not the first time Offline Studio has been suggested, but I still support.

| @Zeph, that's what I'm talking about. You can open it but none of the functions work. There are no bricks, terrain doesn't work, etc. All you can do is view your place on edit mode. I'm asking for it to "work" not to "open". Please read the posts beforehand before replying. |

Bino, I think your computer needs a sit down if it can't open Studio offline and let all the tools work. My 10 year old laptop works perfectly offline on Studio.

| It seems to work for some people and not for others. What it could use with is a separate feature specifically for offline usage. |

It sorta-kinda works offline.
Someone on a forum I go to is making a Offline mode for studio, which when he releases will be great. |
