Name: rtzw (Sir Watson - For now) Race: Dark Elf Age: UNKNOWN Birthplace: UNKNOWN Allegiance: Knights of the Splintered Skies
The actual origin of my life is unimportant, rather, incomprehensible for most the intelligent beings of these times. The only importance is that of my beginnings as a Knight of the Splintered Skies.
[Few references to my past life may be made, but they will only be used to describe the true tone of my situation.]
As most of these origin stories go, I awake, unaware of time, location, and all of that good stuff. I was not in any real pain, but I did have a minor ache on my right hand. (This has no real importance, but it is good to keep good record of events that pass)
After a closer observation of myself, I find that my person is indeed covered in a chilling frost. (This part IS of some consequence to my past, which the general reader will never know about.)
One would assume I was in a cold climate, a logical deduction. I even though so! Quizzically, I was located in quite a warm climate. A somewhat tropical one to be exact. Full of trees, grasses and all that one would expect to find in a somewhat tropical area.
After the exploration of my little "paradise" (note the bugs were quite despicable) I found civilization. The people were... simple. Using crude tools for only the most basic of services. After chatting with the locals, I decided to find the next "civilization".
The next village was not as simple, yet simpler than that I am used to.
To make a long story shorter; I explored the culture of these people. Learned a little world history and such. Did you know that The inhabitants of the Ancient River Mountain have three eyes? Their third eye is almost always closed. When it opens, the can see in the dark. Unfortunately, in the Ancient River Mountain, there are many lights ranging from fires, the sun, or strange floating orbs, it is never dark enough to comfortably open the third eye!
Anywho, I learned of the major factions in the land. As you can guess, The Knights of the Splintered Skies stuck out to me the most. I heard of them by witnessing their kindness firsthand. I saw a small group of rather ugly Korbloxians. Not your usual ones, rather smellier, and somewhat uglier than the usual. (Possibly a beauty trend in high Korblox Society?)
These ugly Korbloxians decided to gang up on a poor man who seemed to owe them something. (Or possibly, it' s another trend to mess with poor old people, in Korbloxia?) As if it were a pre-planned show, rather gracefully, a few Knights flew from what seemed to be out of nowhere. The fact that they had the ability to do this was quite interested, but the biggest interest sparking occurrence was that of their valor and kindness. To come to the rescue for someone like that, and especially to fight the stench of those Ugly Korbloxians, they must have had good hearts.
I chatted with the Knights for a while, learning about their people, and their ways. Afterwards, I joined them in the clouds, pledged allegiance to The Knights of the Splintered Skies, and participated in my first training session.
At this session, I quickly learned how to use various swords. I was actually the winner of a tournament, and a free for all. Mostly out of luck though, I am rather rusty, I haven't had the opportunity to play with a sword in years.
After this training session, I stayed alone to practice on obstacle courses. SirSkyfire, the host of the training came back and asked me what I was doing, and I told him I was practicing on the obstacle course. He asked me if I would like to see some other the other training places, and I accepted.
We ended up in a small place. This place consisted of nothing more than a small green hill. He and I practiced archery with one another.
After our training, he told me his story. How he went from a Knight, just as I am now, to a leader. He told me his story in a very interesting, and personable way. The tone and mood seemed to be a mixture of calm, interesting, cozy, and most importantly fun.
The reader must understand that in my time, most leaders in his position do not display this kind of behavior. In fact, he is the only one. For someone of his status to befriend a simple person he has just met, and to treat him like a brother, he must be an exceptional person at heart.
After looking back at that day, I realized that he is the one who truly inspired me to become a Knight of the Splintered Skies.
To this day, I continue to serve as a Knight of the Splintered Skies |
