I saw this tweet by TheAmazeman:
"In a very practical way, if you don't like the concept behind developer-run events, you are anti progress of @ROBLOX"
What do you think? Do you think if Roblox made the events and not the developers, Roblox as a whole wouldn't progress further? |

Oh gotcha, I was a little confused for a second.
I agree. I don't mind developer events, but I'd say put a little more time and effort into them if you're going to use them. |

| I'd like the idea of them if they would do a better job, if this is the way Roblox is heading then I don't guarantee a nice future for events |

That tweet is idiotic
We as people are allowed to have an opinion. It doesn't slow down progress of anything, since it doesn't seem like ROBLOX staff isn't to stop.
It's also biased since he's:
a) A possible dec to be chosen b) Isn't even popular, but that's my opinion 😊😊☺️ |

Dev Events are supposed to teach you that "YOU make the game" What they are actually teaching you is that "YOU can make an event as long as you throw in random games other people have made with no effort to clean it up!"

More like "YOU made a terrible knockoff game, ruin a sacred event by having compete control over the spawn rate of your eggs!! ITS ONLY FAIR!!" |

Wait somebody just tweeted
"is it okay to dislike the execution of developer-run games master?"
And he said
"Yeah, of course. Here I was referring to someone who was trying to shame a developer for participating in the event"
So what came off as somewhat biased actually didn't mean to be as bad as I had though Amaze just means that the sole idea of a developer taking part in an event is a good one

Young users will see game developers being chosen by roblox to make events and they also want to make a game that is good and noticed by ROBLOX.
Also more people play games they probably haven't tried before
They might end up liking it and playing after the game event is finished.
While you can't plAy a roblox made game after the event is finished |

Good points. But I'll counteract your last statement there;
If the Roblox team makes their own game and people like it that'll give young users the incentive to build something like that themselves.

Why can't the same be said about user made games? They're also interesting and the devs know more about what kids like than the games team. Like how roblox still makes yolo and doge hats. They don't know what kids want mann. |

You've kinda struck on one of the fundamental tensions of ROBLOX. It really is the case that player-made games and content are a huge component of ROBLOX's future. How could it not be true that developer-created events are the spirit of ROBLOX?
At the same time, the people that work for ROBLOX are a talented bunch. They have it in them to create interesting and expansive games themselves. And I've seen firsthand how the players of ROBLOX like to have a new experience. So...how could a real ROBLOX event not be the spirit of ROBLOX?
It's a decision that has to be made somewhere along the line. I just hope that decision ends up being fun, really. |
