I'm an extremely casual gamer but I've considered getting it. Can anyone tell me what they think of it?

It's missing a lot of features.
It's ok, fun at times.

well, it does seem like a casual game, considering what you do is splatter paint all over the place and try to get your team to have the most paint on the map...

If you already have a WiiU, sure. It's pretty fun, the multiplayer is fun (though Nintendo needs to patch some things), and the single player is actually worth playing.

Things that should've been there since the release |

Yeah, it's such a interesting idea to make your ammo/paint the territory marker, a way to travel quicker, how you refill your ammo, and how to fill your special move gauge. It's like a kind of reverse capture the flag. Instead a taking a flag back to your base, you're painting as much terrain as possible and making everything your flag.

@Buckeye It's casual until you start ranking. Once you get into ranking then the game becomes extremely competitive. Much more to it than just running and painting the map. There's talk of people trying to start up splatoon tournaments.
