For most users it's really difficult to make their game noticeable besides spamming the forums or items on the catalog. Really what I'm asking here is, how does one get their game popular?

Hmm, well I'm hardly in a position to tell you how to get a game onto the front page (Although abusing an already overused concept and using false advertising is a popular method).
From the emphasis of your title I really think you're approaching game development from the wrong angle. It should never purely be about whether or not you're gonna be front page, successful, make money etc. You should make a game for the enjoyment of it, take anything thing else as extra. |

You shouldn't expect instant gratification.
However, I do have power on Steam groups I own and partner with, basically from me promoting globally on all those groups which happen to have half at least active on ROBLOX will potentially fill my game up.
Never know honestly though, since it's just a hunch. |

I also would have no experiance in that sort of thing, but here are my thoughts. As you see, there are many great developers out there who were successfuland make great money for what they do. That being said, here is the first point. It's possible. Game development is more about patience and concentration. Scripting can be taught to you from many sources, just takes time. Building the perfect shack in your mind is possible, just takes time. Secondly, as said before, it depends how the game is. It needs to have an enjoyable gameplay and be more than a one time play and done for it to be successful and bring you visits. Just use that great brain of yours, bring a couple of other developers, and start making a masterpiece! Hipe I provided you with usefull information.

| Make games for fun, not to get popular. If you make games just for the front page, you're not going to get inspired to update it, and get disliked. |

Make a game for yourself, if it's good then when people will come on and maybe give it a thumbs up and a like. After a while you'll start to get more regular visits and if it's got a good thumbs up to thumbs down ratio then you could get it onto top rated and from there it can take off.
In a nutshell, make the game for yourself, not for other people. |

| Transfer your ROBUX to TIX, then make several ADs (custom made) by yourself or by a GFX Designer, then run the AD by placing a bunch of TIX on it, it will get your game noticeable. |
