I joined on the 4th of September, 2008. I had so much fun back then. My love for "the golden age" of Roblox is probably terribly biased due to the nostalgia, but I'm going to look past that. I feel like the older versions of roblox had so much more character and originality. Nowadays it really feels like the devs are trying to fill in niches already occupied, instead of carving out their own. However, there have been a multitude of useful and amazing updates that were completely unheard of when I joined. For example, take dynamic lighting. It has breathed new life into the game, alongside the audio updates and particles. But it really seems like Roblox has become more of a money sink (1000R$ to change your username?!). I understand that they have to run all the servers that let you play the game and pay employees, but it still seems a little over the top. The price floor updates were ludicrous as well. To be honest, I think a blend of classic Roblox and modern Roblox would be the best. I hope people realize there's no way to get rid of all the noobs and ODers, they've existed the whole time (trust me, don't let your nostalgia cloud your eyes). They come with the expansion of Roblox's playerbase. Instead of complaining about all the problems, go help fix them! Cover up all those fake front page obstacle courses with your own creations! Roblox is also a useful tool for soon-to-be game developers, as it exposes you to the mechanics of development. If Roblox gets a little too boring for you, try out engines like Unity. Just enjoy what Roblox has to offer, you'll see a new perspective on the game. What do you think?I joined on the 4th of September, 2008. I had so much fun back then. Just enjoy what Roblox has to offer, you'll see a new perspective on the game. What do you think?I joined on the 4th of September, 2008. I had so much fun back then.
