Disable JavaScript, install a Linux OS, use a SECURE VPN (cyberghost is preferable) and you're good to go.
Also, it's strongly recommended that you encrypt your hard drive. |

i honestly only use it for reddit because my parents blocked it other than that nothing special unless you plan to do highly illegal things with it than you should have nothing to worry about |

a "kl" is a keylogger, basically a computer exploit that tracks your keystrokes and stuff

| they don't care. even if it THAAAAT stuff they still don't. they're looking for stuff relating to terrorism, and they're only allowed to collect rather vague information on you anyway even under section 210 of the patriot act. |

Tor is safe, and it's not a keylogger. It's a browser that allows you to browse the internet with complete anonymity but is considered the "gateway" to the deep internet which includes sites such as silk road, which is used by many to purchase illegal goods.
Have fun, but use responsibly. |

What you have just said, OP, is completely illogical.
Using TOR doesn't attract the NSA. Privacy is something everyone is entitled to and just because you're using TOR it doesn't mean that you're doing something wrong.
The NSA is tracking you at all times, they already know if you've done something wrong. They know if you visited the pirate bay. Using TOR is preventing that kind of data collection and they cannot figure out that you're using it without going through every single layer of the router, which is where TOR (The Onion Router) gets it's name.
TL;DR You're making yourself more protected by using TOR. That's all. |

Over using no protection at all? I'm pretty certain you are, sorry but you're wrong there.
And the NSA /can/ technically do so but it's ridiculously hard to do so, costs a lot of money and time making it not very viable. |

"Over using no protection at all?"
>can get free antivirus with web protection that can be x2 better than tor >can get 2 extensions from the chrome store that detect anything tracking you >vpn's that do so much more, and work >proxies
