the voters are actually doing a better job at voting in good players than in the junior circuit, but it's certainly not perfect
link to AL all star starters revised: http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=163952609
so let's dive right into it, here's the stats for the current leaders:
C:
buster posey (.364 OBP with a .357 wOBA, 132 wRC+, and a 1.8 WAR) [san francisco]
1B;
adrian gonzales (.417 OBP with a .434 wOBA, 181 wRC+, and a 2.7 WAR) [los angeles]
2B:
dee gordon (.391 OBP with a .359 wOBA, 126 wRC+, and a 2.9 WAR) [miami]
3B:
matt carpenter (.395 OBP with a .397 wOBA, 154 wRC+, and a 2.3 WAR) [s t louis]
SS:
jhonny peralta (.375 OBP with a .377 wOBA, 141 wRC+, and a 1.7 WAR) [s t louis]
OF:
bryce harper (.472 OBP with a .492 wOBA, 216 wRC+, and a 4.0 WAR) [washington DC] matt holliday (.423 OBP with a .368 wOBA, 134 wRC+, and a 1.0 WAR) [s t louis] giancarlo stanton (.324 OBP with a .364 wOBA, 129 wRC+, and a 2.2 WAR) [miami]
now i really don't have a gripe with most of these guys, posey, marp, peralta, harper, and holliday deserve their spots
however we have some competition at some other positions like 1st, 2nd, and the outfield. rizzo is having a better season than agon, as is kolten wong than gordon. also joc pederson is having a tremendous year and needs to be starting over stanton
this is what the starting lineup should look like:
C:
buster posey (.364 OBP with a .357 wOBA, 132 wRC+, and a 1.8 WAR) [san francisco]
1B;
anthony rizzo (.446 OBP with a .446 wOBA, 183 wRC+, and a 2.8 WAR) [chicago]
2B:
kolten wong (.362 OBP with a .358 wOBA, 128 wRC+, and a 1.9 WAR) [s t louis]
3B:
matt carpenter (.395 OBP with a .397 wOBA, 154 wRC+, and a 2.3 WAR) [s t louis]
SS:
jhonny peralta (.375 OBP with a .377 wOBA, 141 wRC+, and a 1.7 WAR) [s t louis]
OF:
bryce harper (.472 OBP with a .492 wOBA, 216 wRC+, and a 4.0 WAR) [washington DC] matt holliday (.423 OBP with a .368 wOBA, 134 wRC+, and a 1.0 WAR) [s t louis] joc pederson (.385 OBP with a .411 wOBA, 165 wRC+ and a 3.2 WAR) [los angeles]
really the wong / gordon comparison is quite close but wong is just the better player all around

You should list pitchers as well
I've found that signatures are to much of a hassle. |

first of all it's *too
>You should list pitchers as well
pitchers aren't voted in so it wouldn't really matter if i did pitchers

doesnt matter if he's the better player all around its based on this season. dee gordon is having a better season. maybe you should try looking at more than four stats. disregarding every stat that has existed for a very long time and only looking at new sabermetric stats is really stupid and illogical. |

actually these are the 4 most important stats in baseball so no it would be really dumb to look at any stats besides this

"actually these are the 4 most important stats in baseball so no it would be really dumb to look at any stats besides this"
most important stats: hits, runs, strikeouts, walks. the latter two are for pitchers.
but i forgot, hits don't matter as stats (even though they have judged how good players are for decades, just as home runs, rbis, and other stats have) and neither do runs. only this new sabermetric stuff that has only been around since like the 1990s. let's just ignore all the other things that were (and still are used by people who aren't morons (morons meaning people who only use sabermetrics, or only use stats that have been used forever. non morons are the ones who use both)) used to measure how good a hitter is, and lets just focus on one.
get real cheesey. both sabermetrics and things like average, hits, runs, and home runs matter. you're kidding yourself if you think only one of these two things matters. but then again, you said DHs and pitchers that don't hit arent baseball players. |

hits only matter when paired with walks and HBP
average means nothing
and the fact that you think that since batting average and RBI have been around much longer than other stats means they're superior, is a JOKE and extremely ignorant
get with the times buddy, learn what OBP, wOBA, wRC+, and WAR are and look at them
forget everything else

"hits only matter when paired with walks and HBP"
so lets say a guy gets 200 hits but has a low on base percentage
i guess he sucks
"average means nothing"
sure it does.
"and the fact that you think that since batting average and RBI have been around much longer than other stats means they're superior, is a JOKE and extremely ignorant"
actually that's not at all what i said. i never even said they were superior, where are you getting that from? i said that they matter, not that they are better. you're being ignorant.
"get with the times buddy, learn what OBP, wOBA, wRC+, and WAR are and look at them"
last time i checked average, hits, runs, and rbis are still being used to judge how good players are. you don't see people going around saying "this guy has a 6.2 war" or something like that. you hear people talk about their batting average, their rbis, and their hits.

Person A hits 33 out of 100 pitches thrown to him and has a .333 average and .333 OBP Person B gets walked 34 times out of 100 times at the plate and has a .000 average and .340 OBP
Who is better |

you're right (:
>sure it does.
no it doesn't actually
>actually that's not at all what i said. i never even said they were superior, where are you getting that from? i said that they matter, not that they are better. you're being ignorant.
actually they don't matter whatsoever
>last time i checked average, hits, runs, and rbis are still being used to judge how good players are
yeah, by dinosaurs who have no idea how statistics work
>you don't see people going around saying "this guy has a 6.2 war" or something like that.
actually yeah you do, people that actually know what the hell they're talking about
>you hear people talk about their batting average, their rbis, and their hits.
it's unfortunate isn't it
>Who is better
person B
